15 minutes of fame

It is said that the average person will only experience 15 minutes of fame.
Where will yours be?
has it happened already?
do you expect more than 15 minutes?

( ex. saving someones life, being in the news for something etc...)

Like my photography? Buy some here....

I don't know if this count's but it does for me.

While at the star trek exhibition in England, they had the original captains chair from star trek the next generation.

There was a big sign on it that said. DO NOT SIT IN CHAIR

I sat on it. I had to, i didn't care if the thing broke, i just wanted to sit in it. It was like a really big thing in my life for me.

Man i feel good "I've sat in that chair" i say every time my friends and i watch the next generation.

They had the Klingon high counsel chair there aswell, but that was boring (they were letting people sit in that)

You rebel.

The search for the ultimate signature continues apace. I have journeyed from the peaks of Nepal to the depths of oceanic trenches. I have crossed deserts, jungles, swamps, savannas, steppes and frozen wastelands. I have consulted with seers, swamis, sages, scholars and savants. The peregrination proceeds purposefully.

I've had like 5 seconds of fame on Belgian television 5 years ago...

Is that the kind of fame you're talking about?

I was on the jumbotron at a baseball game once.

I was sitting in front of the three blondes with low-cut shirts on.

Does that count?

I doubt anyone noticed you with a backdrop like that Mr B

I once lent my dulcimer to Joni Mitchell for a concert.
She got her own one back in time and ended up not using it - damn.

about 8 or so years ago when we had a near complete solar eclipse, the media came to our setup at our school.
we constructed several devices to watch the event, and my station was aired for quite some time.
besides looking through welder's glasses, some decided to just look up like dumbasses. and i wonder why i need contacts.

i've been on TV from an IU basketball game, just for a couple seconds. i was filmed on a local news station talking about construction while cruising in my jeep.
and several other times years ago when my school went to the state basketball championships. we had a "star" player (andre patterson) who's at UCLA as of now.

In order to be famous, you have to be either rich or beautiful. I'm working on the rich part.

When I was younger I did a small amount of entertaining. Nothing that you would recognize me from but I did have the opportunity to meet various stars and people of power, of course I was too young to care (I thought everyone did this) and in a lot of ways that was probably a good thing. I can't say that I miss it, but I don't regret it either.
As for the future it is not my intention to be in the spotlight, but strange things happen so who knows.

I had about 4 minutes of fame on my highschool television network back in 97'.A picture of me in the courtyard burping and a warning to me from the staff that I would soon get suspeneded if I contiued burping as loudly as I did during lunch, as it was a distraction to teachers and students and they could hear it in the front office too...Oh yeah and I got used as an example of what not to come to schoool dressed in when the dress code got changed{{ too many spikes, chains and peircings.. and they didnt like the 8inch spiked blue hair at the time either}}.. but that was the only fame in my life...

It all started in 4th grade- during a rainy day, we were forced to stay in and eat lunch- and as an activity write a couple sentences about something you did "kind" for someone else- or something kind done to you.

The teacher actually had a plot- she sent the "essays" in to be published in a book called "Kids Random Acts of Kindness" - my essay was chosen out of the class. A 4 sentence epic about going into a cafe and getting a free sandwich.

It turned into a giant thing- I appeared on CNN for a couple seconds, and I along with 5 other essay writers went to the American Bookseller Convention, which is basically a trade convention where buyers for bookstores see what's the latest out of the publishing houses. We were there to do signed copies... I must have signed at least 200 books that day. It is quite a surreal experience as a forth grader... or any age really, to have people line up for your autograph.

After the convention, I appeared on the Leeza Gibbons Talk show promoting the book- and almost appeared on oprah but they decided to use essay writers in the chicago area where she tapes. After that, it died down. I've never heard anything about the book since... from the publishers... or anyone.

So for all of 2 months I was a media whore. Been there, done that.

And dont bother buying the book

I dont get any royalties...

I may have had about 10 seconds of fame on some Spanish news station in Italy when i kept popping behind the anchorman waving then running away. I was like 11 at the time. I finally did it enough that the guy got so pissed he started swearing at me in spanish, so I did it again and again. lol

"Welcome to the Island of people who know too much."..."Did you really think balloons would stop him?!"
See what I'm listening too.

Ummmmm, I won fifth place in my city (100,000 people) Spelling Bee in 8th grade. Was on tv and everything, ooooooo. And could have won, except the idiot pronouncing the words said "SAT-ur-ick" instead of "sa-TEER-ick" (satiric) and wouldn't give me a definition. I was so nervous that I didn't realize what he meant, and completely botched it

Other than that, I'll never be famous... too boring

They put a razor blade in your chicken? Did you used to change your mind loads at the deli counter or steal trolleys or something?

this story hit news like a hammer and people all now know where and who live sin Lacey Township thanks to a girl that was at the Prom one year, gave birth to her child, and umped it off in the garbage can and went back to the dance floor and started dancing again until they found the baby and arrested her, now poeple know about lacey likes its this horrible place to live, but otherthen that people have no idea who i am, and i would rather they didnt, i dont liek big crowds and all i care about is cars and winamp skins, so thats it

one kid i know was an extra on Dawsons Creek, some kids i know were on the interviews for the baby incident, my friend is an almost-pro skateboarder, he wins all sorts of things....ide rather have famous friends that truly know im their friend rather then be famous myself and have friends im not so sure about
