your opinion of gmail?

i used to use yahoo cuz i have dsl, but now i got gmail. its good but could be better...yes it is beta still, ino.

i was really excited about the conversation style of gmail, because i thought it would group all of the same notifications from the same winamp thread together, but it doesnt!. it will group maybe 2, sometimes 3...completely random together, then start a new mail item.

is there a solution...other than quit bitching. any other mail do it this way?

what is your opinion of gmail...

I am quite pleased with it. Not only the space, but the interface. It is fast, clean, and the ads are unobtrusive.

I like it. I don't keep messages once I've read them unless they contain some important information, so I don't care much about the whole conversation putting-together. I like the way there is a reply box at the bottom of every message, and how you an open it in a new window.

Basically, I like it. I don't use it really though because I can't be arsed to transfer all my contacts from Hotmail there.

The interface puts most standalone mail clients to shame. Unbelievable...

Just another e-mail client. Be it a good one, it's still just another one. Same old boring format. But everyone got caught up in that stupid invite hype. Anyone who wanted a g-mail account got one.

I like Gmail. I think the interface is very good for a web based email client.

Pop Goes the Gmail? I access Gmail with the Notifier extension for Firefox, so I wouldn't know how well that works.

Gmail is awesome. Much cleaner, less obtrusive, much faster than my old Hotmail and Netscape accounts.

I'm very impressed with Gmail and I'll never go back to hotmail or yahoo ever.

I really like the way gmail displays new and old mail, like a conversation. It's clean and it's quick to load. I don't ever notice any of the text ads. I love it so much. The space is a huge plus. I don't delete my emails anymore. Right now I have 17MB of emails stored. Sometimes I search for old emails when I am looking for information left in a message. This email service fits my life perfectly.

I've had a gmail account for several weeks now. I haven't sent any mails with it. I haven't received any mails with it. I haven't given anyone in particular my gmail address.

But having my own gmail account gives me a constant warm and spicy feeling between my thighs.

I'm sure I'll put that feeling to work someday.....err...umm.........I mean I'll put the gmail account to work someday.

I love gmail. The minuses are that the interface requires a new browser and that it is not completely standard-respecting, so I hope they will give an alternative to log in to a "stupid", more compatible gui when necessary. And I wonder if the mail-box is virus-scanned (no i haven't RTFM ), and the connection should still be scrambled when the log in is done (right now only the login is encrypted).
I'd also like a webmail-style normal adress book with checkboxes for "adding selected to the Send To:-list". (Yes, I love the auto-complete, but a gui has to offer many ways to do things)

What I like is that it is FAST. The google style plain gui without large pics makes the service fluent on a 56k modem. I've had login problems only once during the 2-3 weeks i've used gmail.

The search engine will probarly be great to have there when I have something to search from.

off topic: have you tested Amazon's new Google-based search engine www.A9.com? I say it's amazing! It combines Google Web Search and Image Search in one window, it has support for login-accounts (amazon.com) that remembers everything you search (Well, if you don't feel your privacy threatened by this, it's defenitely a big +)

I quite like the interface and find it pretty good to use, but I have little mail to it as I've not given the address to many people (although I may start to use it as a replacement to my Yahoo address). Also still got invites spare if there's anyone who's not got one yet and still wants one.

Kids, you tried your best and you failed miserably. The lesson is, never try.
