Does anyone know how to take a screen shot of MilkDrop when it is desktop mode?

can't be done.

The same reason you can't take a screenshot of a video while it's playing.

You can take screenshots from playing video. All you need is Hypersnap-DX. You could give it a shot with MilkDrop too.
