It's not too early for a Belini. I bottled up 4 quarts of peach nectar from last summer's harvest on any sunny day make myself a fine, fine Belini.

Good weather is settling in now so within a week or so it will be barbeque season opening day. G&t's and Belinis for all.

Are you shopping for:
A party?
A home liquor cabinet or bar?
High class sipping for taste stuff?
Low class drink for effect stuff?
Beer, wine, liquor or some combination?
Mixers?
Mixing/serving bar ware?

Give us some idea and you'll get some well-targeted suggestions.

Shit you're fast at replying

a decent bar has these wines:
Sweet red
Dry red
Sweet white
Dry white

a decent bar has these liquors:
whisky
vodka
gin
rum
tequila
brandy or cognac

A decent bar should also have a few beers:
pilsner
lager
ale
stout

Be sure to have plenty of fruit juices and other mixers. Certain liqueurs add good flavor and necessary ingredients too.

If you want brand preferences or gear to mix/serve, I'll try to find links to previous posts where I went in depth.

There are many things I left out - I just with bare-bones basics.

South Dakota. Get in your car and we'll give you a party you'll regret in a good way.

I don't live in a large city anymore like last year. Getting this kind of stuff takes careful planning, lots of phone calls, special ordering, and long trips. In other words, I have to stock up when I'm on vacation, or reimburse friends to bring me a shipment when they take the long-ass trip to visit. It also helps that I don't drink much during the school year - just on longer breaks and the occasional weekend.

imho mojitos are a little slice of heaven in each sip.

They will also get you wrecked pretty quick. I mean, its rum, sugar, and a wee bit of club coda and lime .... I usually about double the rum that the recipe calls for. If it is too harsh, add a little more sugar water.

With a good Caribbean rum you can get away with that and it won't sock you in your mouth for it. Now, if I really had a choice, it would be a cuban rum.

I just came back from celebrating one of my friends' 21st.

We went to a bar, I had a wonderful martini, my buddy had a manhattan and the guest of honor had beer :\

Although, the reason for this is that you get a 'birthday mug' there on your 21st that you can fill any number of times, but only with cheap beer. So, she did that, more than a few times.

Then, we walked out to the next place. On the way the birthday girl and another girl ( the total party was myself another guy and two women ) got the idea to make out to annoy another one of our friends.

A little backstory: at a mardi gras party a few years ago, he missed everyone flashing while he was in the bathroom and we haven't let him hear the end of it. So, he wasn't too happy about missing this I'm sure.

Anyway, we get to the next place and about five minutes after we get there, these guys get thrown out for using fake IDs. They were bad fakes. The picture was on the wrong side. But afterwards, things calmed down a little bit and we had a pretty good time.

The thing is that the bars get really crowded around here on the weekends. They get so crowded that it pretty much stops being fun to go to them. Usually, I'd rather just sip a drink while reading a book. Exciting, I know but I do like books quite a bit. So, I don't do this that often, but it's
a special day.

We finally leave this place and, after realizing that we just can't stay out quite as late as we used to, decide to head back and call it a night. On the way back, we see an ambulance outside the first place that we had stopped at. It's really pretty ridiculous how stupid college students get over alcohol. It gives all of us a bad reputation.

I have no idea what happened nor do I care. These idiots are continually making us all look bad and making it seem as if nobody is mature enough to responsibly drink. That couldn't be further from the truth. A very large portion of us know how to control ourselves and have a <single, one> drink without going overboard and causing all sorts of problems.

Aside from that it was a good night, though and I look forward to the next one in the circle of friends turning 21. It's interesting how the group that comes out with us will get bigger as each person comes of age.

Well, that was a lot of fun. Started with a beer, then a captain morgan mixed drink(which had coconut cream, bad choice), a vodka and lemonade, kamikazi, and about a 3rd of an adios motherfucker, I didn't want to puke, and we wanted cake so I called it quits.

Protip: don't drink Budweiser. The stuff is piss. The best thing would be to find a good localish microbrewery. It's usually more expensive, but it's generally well worth it.

if after 12 hours you still do not feel normal, then:

1. Its merely psychological

2. something else is wrong with you.

Definitely never drink on an empty stomach. And the greasier the food is you put in there before you drink, the better. There's a theory that it "lines the stomach" and prepares it for the assault it is about to endure.

Alcohol dehydrates you, which also causes headaches.
Drink water.

I always advise people not do drink alcoholics all night, but drink one or two non-alcoholic drinks aswell.

I've only been drunk once, it was on our honeymoon. Beer and 4 random cocktails can't be good for your head. We were close to the hotel though

Jesus loves you [yes, you] so much, he even died for you so that you will not need to die, but live forever

A hang over is actually caused by dehydration. Have a glass of water for every alcoholic beverage. I drink all the time and am fine in the morning. Now I'll admit all that water and booze, you piss a lot. But you are a guy, it's not that hard!

Sugar (and sometimes too much carbonation) with alcohol will worsen the hangover. I'm not sure why, but many will agree that it's true. Sweet drinks need to be limited if consumed at all. Stick with 'dry' drinks.
