Problem freezing after load in Windows 7

All of a sudden Winamp v5.56 started freezing while loading on my system running Windows 7 beta 7100. I get two windows, one the main Winamp, and another for the library. In the main Winamp window, the 'Media Library' tab is selected, but everything below it is greyed out.

This shows the 'ghosted' library window:

I had just uninstalled an old firewall and installed a new one. So I went offline and disabled both the firewall and antivirus software, as both have caused related issues with other software from time to time. But it didn't resolve the problem with Winamp.

I backed up the ..\appdata files, uninstalled Winamp, and installed a new copy. Winamp played DJ Mike's file when it started up, but it still froze with library tab greyed out.

I don't think this is related to the registry hack I was dicussing recently. I've been using both Foobar2000 and Winamp without problems up until this popped up.

I'm at a loss to explain this. Any suggestions woould be greatly appreciated.
