Just a simple suggestion.

I noticed your in_mp3 plugin can display VBR frequency as variable or an average of the file. Can you make an option to have it just display the letters "VBR" where the kbps should be? It would be better for my DDE plugin.

Kbps is a number and "VBR" is not. Currently Winamp doesn't have any "reserved" numbers for such things and will hardly ever have them.

I'm sure you can force it to display letters instead of numericals =]

I think you don't get the point. Check input plug-ins specification: input plug-in returns kbps as a number, not as a string. And C it a strongly typed language, it's not the f**cking VB. You can not return a string when you have to return a number.

Don't you think that this will break all existing input plug-ins?

Nah... An addition (the ability to use letters instead of numbers) doesn't break anything. A modifaction (forcing it to use letters instead of numbers) probably would.

changing specs *does* break existing plugins.
