With Players like Sonique, why does anyone even bother with Winamp?

Because people have different preferences in media players. I, for one, prefer Winamp for it's simplicity, ease of use, and nice vis plugins. Please don't start a flame war, been there, done that, and I got in big trouble and made myself look like a a fool.

I use winamp in the background b/c it uses sooo much less processor power.

agreed Sonique is a beautifull player, much more flashy then winamp, however, when I wanna listen to music on my computer I would like to be able to go on with my work running. Sonique uses so much system power thats near impossible, and no I dont have a slow system Athlon at 900mhz. my system is very fast..but I dont want a player that kills my system power I want a player that plays my music if I want some nice graphics its in winamp as well as sonique, winamp its option sonique is not

Anyone wanting to make a compromise can use QCD - version 3.10 should be out later today: www.quinnware.com

It's really good - I don't use it a lot, simply b/c I have Winamp, but it's really nifty.

Please note I do not use the word "nifty" on a regular basis.

I've never even tried a different player, well... besides WMP7 (and that hardly qualifies)... where I come from we have a saying, "if it aint broke, don't fix it."

"If it's broke, glue it."

That conjures up mental images of globs of Elmers pouring out of the floppy drives of all the Sonique and WMP user's puters.
