The new royalty laws are in Limbo. If they really go through with what has been written into the laws, almost none of the small noncommercial stations will be able to afford the rates to stream. The really big commercial stations might be able to afford it if they have a really big surplus from their ad sales.

Your mileage may vary!

streamhosting has different costs depending on where you purchase it,

see http://www.radiotoolbox.com/hosts for a list,

too good to be true offers are normally too good to be true so choose a reputable compnay if you do not want to be chaasing them around for support.

i would be asking the lisencing question in the www.loudcity.net forums as they have a better idea of costs.

OK thanks! I there one service that is the best everyone uses and say that i need to pay only $30 max a month?

I have a proposition. SC will code a skin that has a link to your station. It will bring you probably 100+ people on your station at all times of day it will bring you exposure. just want to do alittle bartering -- host us, and we will bring you business. We want our own Rock station and want to know how to do it.

http://www.radiotoolbox.com/hosts/ has a list of hosts with reviews.

bandwidth costs cash so you may or may not be lucky to get a deal from someone.

Everyone would love to say their service is best but is more about what you can afford.

you need to decide how big your station is going to be and what sort of bitrate you want to stream at.

heres a good read on getting started,

Thanks so much! So royalties for a station that has 100 or so listeners with medium bandwidth is still not expensive? You basically can still brodcast your collection till laws are passed?

As nick@ss suggested earlier - you might want to check out Loudcity.net or Swcast.net to find out more information about royalty rates and licensing costs.
