Fatal error 'can not create signal daemon thread!

Hi,

I want to run a ShoutCAST relay on FreeBSD and i've got this error:

[main] relay thread starting
Fatal error 'can not create signal daemon thread!
' at line 236 in file /usr/releng_5_4/src/lib/libpthread/thread/thr_sig.c (errno = 22)
Abort trap: 6 (core dumped)

Do you know what i have to do?

Best Regards,

A shot in the dark :

Do you have all relevant dependencies installed and properly linked ?

I don't know the shoutcast's dependencies.

I always use shoutcast on debian and i never have to add library or other things

This server is not mine so...

Best Regards

You are most probably using FreeBSD 8.0 , and with 8.0 the compatibility support for the ancient FreeBSD 5.4 (which is already years depricated) is dropped.
Due to that you are getting an error, becouse it trys to access a lib which isnt there anymore.

Got exactly the same problem here, and now about 750 listeners are having no stream

btw an update on how to solve it (temporary) untill a native binary is working again.

code:

kldload linux
echo 'linux_enable="YES"' >> /etc/rc.conf

code:

cd /usr/ports/audio/linux-shoutcast/
make install distclean

code:

cp /usr/local/sbin/sc_serv /to/whatever/dir/you/got/your/stream/in/sc_serv

That way you can still run the streams until the native binary is fixed.
