Ok. I shall try to explain.

I have in view of automatic change of the sizes of the menu "Settings" for full display of all of an option. (if playlist the small sizes it is very convenient)
At return switching in the menu playlist should change automatically the sizes set up by the user.

And if you plan to lay out mine colortheme that please will rename them as follows:

Windows / XP Silver-Blue> pEar 242 / Olive-Blue
Windows / XP Silver-Green> pEar 242 / Olive-Green

Probably I have already bothered you.
But, it would seem to me to make more conveniently songinfo goup as follows.

Title
Artist
Album

And it is even better.
Title
Artist
Album (Year)

With support songticker.

ah i see what you mean. that would be possible, but the point is that the skin should be maximizable.. and this might not work too well with the settings window. plus it would interfere with whatever avs/video windows are open on the main display.

thanks for the idea though

edit. yeah i'll do the theme names. i don't think i'll make the songticker scroll though, sorry.

Hey made a few colorthemes too
There is a bug when you have the playlist in the drawer and click on the player the mousewhell will scroll the PL isntead of changing volume - i guess this was fixed in vortex fullscreen with adding wantfocus="1" to the playergroup and setting autofocus of playlist to 0
Attached Files
File Type: xml submetric.xml (3.5 KB, 504 views)

Pay attention on EQ a toddler 60 hz acts 170 hz, a 14khz and 16 khz are ambiguous in the behaviour. fix it!
Also add button Reset in EQ, for example on pressing of figure 0 db as in classic skins.
Also remove a lines
id = "PLCurrent" value = " XXXX, XXXX, XXXX " gray = "X" boost = "X"/>
from mine сcolorthemes if you are going to to include it in structure submetric.
Thanks.

I second everyone here : Incredible skin !!

I think it just lacks lisibility, the font used is a bit small. And it could be cool to open file's info when double clicking on the song title.
Another point : what about includind MSPP easy rating ?

Keep up the good work

mspp rating has some strange bugs atm in vortex, we will try to figure them out! but having the rating/other functions will need to have the popup, mspp install proccess.
Don't know if hammerhead want to have this - mspp is not everyone's thing

yeah, tbh i'd rather not have the rating system incorporated into the skin until there is something from nullsoft.. i'll update the skin when this does happen.

i'll do the file info thing though.

Wonderful!

In the many years I've been using winamp I've never strayed from the default classic, and then default modern skin.

I think this may be the one to finally make me switch!

This is coming along wonderfully.
Although I am not too keen on darker, metallic skins or small fonts, the functionality is A++!

I'd like to make a small request that you improve the visibility while in the media library. It's kind of offputting to me to not see the partitions between the 'artist', 'album', and 'tracks' sections.

Great work so far, I'll keep an eye on this one!

I haven't participated in forums for ages. Randomly came here and found this.

Great job Hammerhead! I am using this now and I'll write up some suggestions/feedback over the next couple of days if I'm not too lazy.

Alright, here is some stuff.

It's interesting, I always go back to the default modern skin. I've thought of switching before, but I always switch back. Maybe this time it will stick. I'll give feedback this time.

I should note I've been too lazy to read through this whole thread, so excuse me if any of this has been discussed already. Also, all this is meant as positive feedback.

First, some positives about your skin:
* I love the extended metadata display (ie the album title)
* I like how you attempted animated transitions
* I appreciate the included full screen mode
* I like the options of integrated and free floating pl/ml/etc. I've been waiting for a skin to implement this in a decent way for some time.
* The "docked objects" are so incredibly sexy
* pretty good base look

Some suggestions/criticisms after an hour of use:
* AVS is a misnomer for the docked vis object - I happen to be using Milkdrop. A more generic name such as "Vis" or something seems more appropriate
* no tooltips anywhere
* animation transitions between modes are very jerky
* given jerkyness, should probably be an option to turn them off
* double click on song metadata should bring up file info
* I'd prefer some other button to expand the lower docked items, as is I have to cycle to full screen and back to turn them on/off. I wish I could make it slide down then back.
* No off setting for notifier (I can make it go away by setting everything to 0.0s, but there should be an off option, probably another radio button after fading effect/ sliding effect)
* no stick mode (I loves me my stick modes)
* i should be able to grab the whole right edge to resize

Congrats on an amazing skin. Can't wait to see more from it.

Actually, after doing this it still flashes real quickly, which is becoming increasingly annoying. So there is indeed no way to turn the notifier off, which would be much appreciated.

Here is an additional annoyance:

* The bitrate display is very jumpy with VBR files. The display is updating itself constantly, and the line will shift as it displays VBRs of different character widths. It should update far less frequently and should have a fixed width that doesn't jump around.

Thanks for all the suggestions.

Yeah, i'll add the tooltips as soon as i can get round to it, and the double click for song info has already been fixed. it sounds like a sensible idea to all the user to disable animations, and the notifier for that matter.. i'll have a look at these.

hopefully i'll get a chance to work on the skin in the next week or so, then i'll post another beta.

thanks a lot.

ok, here's another update:

Download (v0.91)

quite a lot of fixes since the last release, still got a few more to do, but it's progress

-hammerhead

edit: also, to disable the notifier, use the dropdown menu (frequency) in the settings window.

Nice update. Keep em coming It's been a week and I am still using your skin. Most skins don't last that long. I think this may very well be the first skin ever to steal me from the default. Well done. Looking forward to future updates.

I think I may be missing something - I can't find the drop down menu in the settings window. Help?

Edit: I dig the new color themes. Thanks to all theme contributors (lets see more!).

* lots of overlap on various buttons when resizing in one of the windowed modes
* odd behaviour of toggling avs window
* drop downs for notifier dont go away when finished with, they stay open on the notifier window, you can then drag and move around the main skin window but the drop downs stay in the same place
* thers probably more but not used it much to notice anything more yet

lookin good tho

*Tip*

The radio buttons in the settings page doesn't support clicking on the circle...

To Fix this include the attached file in skin.xml...
Attached Files
File Type: zip checkbox.zip (505 Bytes, 429 views)

ClassicPro© v2.01 : This plugin allows you to use cPro skins in Winamp. ClassicPro skins are all SUI skins and loads very quickly. ClassicPro skins is even easier to skin than Winamp Classic skins. A new layout have been added since version 2.

yea was settings but cant reproduce now
a few things you might want to add/change

* add local cover to notifier too or check local first then net if checked
* perhaps add resize to the whole frame edge, mask it with a layer so that only the very last 4/5 pixels have resize, atm resize is only on bottom right
* make repeat button 3 states, i and possibly a lot of people like track repeat, esp on steve vai tracks
* no xfade slider?
* possible to increase height on notifier if u drag down or double click the cover, is more info going in ther at some point?
* notifier cover shows even when settings ablum cover not checked, if checked then cover and browser window shows (browser with no image)
* not getting any section bars on the media library to resize section in any mode
* open album folder on cover click from main mode not notifier?
* add a fair few programmable buttons, plenty of room esp in max mode

Would be nice to have song time with the title in the main window. And I would put year and time (eventually) before the title and album name so it wouldn't be cropped with long titles and album names.

Also you could add an align="right" for current time and an align="left" for songlength, so it wouldn't move.

Voila, I hope this helps.

Again, a great simple and efficient skin, also for touchscreen with a little tweaking of the button's size.

Un petit dernier pour la route:
A strange thing (but intersting):
The quality of the albumart is quite ugly due to resizing (especially text). And nobody wants to resize all its pictures in order to have the right and nice size.

But If you delete the resizing in the albumart group (x & y="108"), and start winamp with a folder that includes a 108/108 picture, it will resize the pictures of all the following tracks at the right size, but with a much better quality (might be a bug).
So maybe start the skin with a default picture (108/108) and remove the resizing entries.

I'm not sure about the time, tbh i see no problem with the way its turned out.

but i will have a go at adjusting the album art, i see what you mean about bad resizing
