Does VP6 come bundled with Winamp? + Any1 know a good pre-configed nsv streaming host

EDIT: I'm having real trouble finding all information, please bare with me:

1) Is VP6 really bundled with winamp, so that the majority of people can watch VP6 streams without adding a .dll manually?

2) When I want to encode to VP6 it says "Space for ads Cheap =D :P" - does this mean I don't have the vp6 .dll installed? The config button brings up nothing on VP6!

3) I will buy serverspace, so I don't have to host the stream locally), anyone know the cheapest / best deal for it, that allows adult content as well?

Btw, if this is the 1000th time somebody asks these questions, it's because on scvi.net everything is one big mess! =(

That is correct.

You can also watch VP6.1 and VP6.2 streams on the Linux platform as well. ( Xine and Mplayer )

You must manually download the VP6.1 personal use / non commercial video codec pack and install it - VP6.zip ( nsv.no-ip.com/downloads/ ) or purchase the VP6.2 video codec from ON2. You can use the same encoding DLL for the VP6.2 video codec.

Once you have installed the either VP6 video codec and the encoding DLL file, then you can open the NSV Encoding Configuration Window to see the " place for ya ads cheep "

To configure either of the installed VP6 video codecs, you must click on the * Configure * button under the VP6 Encoding Options heading.

sankt runs an excellent and easy to navigate site with useful information. He is also a great person, which is why he posted the helpful message above, instead of putting you in your place.

Practically any NSV question you can imagine can be answered by searching this forum, visiting scvi.net, or basic trial-and-error.

The only problem is that you are being lazy. Don't expect anyone here to hold your hand, especially since you plan to use NSV to line your pockets.

Thanx sankt! I take it from the responses below yours that you own and run scvi? =)

To answer the angry people below your post: While waiting for a response, I actually already had found the answers to my questions by searching the forum and scvi some more... it did take me 2 days in total to get all the answers though, and I was awake all that time, so as you understand by now, I wasn't being lazy (the oposite actually, right) - but I PANICED becuase I wanted to "get things done" and then finally sleep =)

It may seem to people who are used to winamp streaming media, that the information on here and on scvi is very detailed and complete - but it's in fact very scattered and miles apart, and the way it's written it takes a lot of things "for granted" - like you already know a lot of the lingo, and been casting already.

And there's even outdated info mixed in with new info, often with no timestamps! And I am by no means a "computer newbie" - so it was pretty frustrating to search for 2 days straight to find out all the little quirks and insights and even read contridictiary information here and there.

Now, I'm not putting you down sankt, I know first hand how much hard work goes into making information complete and well documented, and you're probably doing this out of your own free will just to help people.

But fact is, I'd like to help you along, if you'll let me? =) And contribute, and make a step-by-step guide on how to be "up and running" streaming video off a hosting site, which answers a lot more questions than the guides I found which were pretty "obvious" yet left a whole lot to be desired.

I'd even like to list some good "cheap" hosts I found in it, and then put it on scvi if I may, sankt? =) Places people have not mentioned on here to my knowledge.

I think a lot of newcommers would like it, seeing how it's been written by one that come into this now.

I hope you answer yes on this, however, it will probably take me 1-3 months to do, because I have a LOT to do atm.

Anyway... B0b... It's true I am hoping to make some modest money off of this, as I am VERY poor, and always has been (I come from a family who has never even owned a car man) and as me and my friends are very creative (and good!) I need money to buy more studio hardware and a 24p videocamera to record music and music videos for my 2man band and some other people in my town, and hopefully stream that on here as well =) Hopefully even make some short movies!

So, if you think I'm in this to scam you all out of you're money for my own greed to buy stuff I don't need - think again - I've always been very creative (around the clock actually) and, as you probably understand by now, I'm in THIS to contribute to society in the end, with entertainment. But I got to sustain myself somehow, and I don't want the entertainment coming out of me to be, well LOW QUALITY... as in... NO BUDGET...

And I can't take yet ANOTHER job on top of studying AND recording music AND promoting myself and my band online... AND writing scripts for the future short movies AND trying to get a book out =) (I'm actually doing more than this, but who cares, right)

I'm trying to make my life work out, in order to make something out of myself, so please don't automaitcly hate me for being FRANK with you guys, out of your political anti-commercial viewpoint B0b - I'm by no means part of "the problem".

Everybody who needs to get heard has to advirtise somewhere, and I chose Winamp because I like it, been using it ever since it came out in the late 90's, and because I like music and porn and movies, and because I don't think another quality "sponsored" porn stream is going to kill anyone =) I think the oposite, seeing how low in quality a lot of the streams on it is right now. (Not all though)

I just read something scary, in another post... I read that you ban a lot of porn streams B0b, is this true? I don't even know if maybe you work for winamp, but if you are doing that, I wonder why? Especially since you have to TICK a box in order to even SEE that there IS porn streams in Winamp, right? =)

Hope you won't ban me, as I am going to put a lot of money (money I really don't even have atm - it will be a lot of pasta in my mouth this month) into getting to broadcast my stuff, and not knowing even now if I will make the slightest bit of money back out of it for certain... I mean I have no idea if people will visit my site or not, as I have no experience in this whatsoever.

I did not say there is anything wrong with lining your pockets. I simply meant that if you want information which can be used for commercial gain, expect it to cost you time or money or both.

Info here and at scvi.net ....

Best of luck, VideoPlanner, with your plans and efforts, sincerely. Offering an additional setup guide for scvi.net seems generous to me. Thank you.

However, (and not to take away from your gracious offer at all -- more instructions are always useful) have to say that from here, scvi.net is the best thing since sliced bread for learning about nsv. Can't count the times that info from there has filled in blanks found in forum posts here. Putting all the parts together can take some time, maybe that's it.

Looking forward to your contribution -- hhb
