Can't format, rip, or play WMVs (Win XP)

I have always been able to rip cd's now I can't. It says there are no tracks to rip. I format a show that is in WMV format to MP3 so I can transfer it onto my USB drive and play in my car, but now it won't recognize the WMV file at all. I am really sad, I listen to these everyday going to work. Please help soon. I have read your threads and cannot find what I need or understand how to fix this. I don't think the format converter is working properly for anything, the only thing it has it the winamp essentials pack Ogg Vorbis Encorder loaded onto it. There are no other choices.

Thanks,

Cheryl

well first wmv is a video file format
so how it was converting to mp3 is beyond me
the last update took incompatible videos out of the sync list for mp3 players

thanks rob
