Isn't that a decent, polite thing to do?
Any americans that attempt the same stunt when Tony blair/ Gerard shroeder etc. visits will receieve a cap in their ass, literally, courtesy of the secret service.

LOL.
On CNN Headline News, it showed them with "WE HATE BUSH" painted on their butts. Can't see it in this pic though. Maybe it was different protesters.

I don't like what happened down in Gothenburg.
People tearing down the god damn city, having lame excuses just to be able to trash things.
God damn idiots down there, 200-300 people vandalizing when others wanted to demonstrate peacefully.
Dammit, those who got shot by that policeman really god damn deserved it!

hmmm how, russia can't afford it and euro powers are gone.
ever since the suez canal fiasco anyways...

basically the US is the only "world" power anymore. too bad for them i guess since a scolding from euro leaders doesn't phase bush.
i don't see the need for a huge missile overhaul, the only enemies we face are poor and won't be able to compete.

Why don;t we like Bush ?

Because[list][*]He values American economic growth over fighting global warning and because he doesn't respect made agreements. (AKA kyoto agreement)[*]He's dumb.[*]He's conservative as opposed to relatively socialist European governments.[*]He is a danger to the world[*]He is an insult to chimpansees.

In an interview, Bush himself admitted to being "intellectually limited". Kind of worrying for someone who gets to be the most powerful person in the world (and could push the nuclear attack button by mistake thinking it's his alarm-clock)

well i look at it this way: if there were to be a danger, it would be because the stupid people were under him and reccomended that he push the button. i do think that he needs to have less emphasis on missiles, and more on destroying terrorist groups. methodically eliminating them. but i dont think he can because of certains laws and shit. i would sooooo like to open the paper this morning and find that a black ops SEAL team captured osama bin laden and that the taliban was wiped out by plague. but unfortunately, it wont happen. so to summarize: theres worse idiots behind the button elsewhere.

a person with limited intellectual capeabilites should not be running the most powerful country in the world. I know he will take advise from those below him but at the end of the day it is his decission. i don't think you'd want a person with limited intelligence programming the software running on a nuclear sub would you, now where's the differance? one of em makes a wrong decission and the result is the same

Anyone that has the idiocy to criticize the US for anything should shut the fuck up. In case you haven't noticed we have financed just about every European country with no intention of ever being reimbursed. Whenever you morons get into trouble guess who is there to bail your asses out? The whole fucking world owes us undying respect for saving you all from Germany, Nazi Germany, Mussolini, Communist Russia, Hussein etc... You people actually have the time to bitch and moan about the environment, gun control, capital punishment, and various other crap. Maybe you all should get off your high horses, quit whining about everything we do and start worrying about taking care of yourselves. Because... If you bite the mouth that has been feeding you for almost two hundred years, guess who won't come save you next time.

any country that spends billions of pounds on defence and silly starwars projects instead of providing social security and health care for it's citizens has it's priorities wrong. Defence of your nation is important and i wish us brits spent more on it, but you cannot justify leaving the vast majority of the public without any health care.

I totally agree with Twilighter that americans believe that they are the centre of the universe and are blinkerd to the outside world by this belief. The ammount of 'flag waving', as Noam Chompsky would put it, that goes on in America with absolutly everything from sports to elections is frankly disturbing.

You may well have put a man on the moon and helped in the war effort but what good is that if people can freely walk the streets with guns shooting people because your allowed to bear arms in the constitution? There is a major difference between shooting someone and defending yourself and property. I could, if i wanted to, fly to America tomorrow buy a gun and go and murder a dozen or more people very easily. That i feel is a sorry state to be in.

Oh and as for 'biting the mouth that feed us' apart from defence you've made own wars with Russia and dragged us along with you. Who was the country that got in an arms race with russia because they felt threatened when some other country did things differently to yourselves? Condemming communists because they believe in a social system that puts everyone on the same level seams a little stupid to me. But what does that matter? you have enought nuclear arms to destroy the world several times over right, who's going to mess with you then? you destroy the world and no-one lives even the people that destroyed it.

Besides, if we've been able to defend all of the other countries against Hussein, Nazi Germany and so on, why can't we protect ourselves against Bill Gates and buy Apple computers instead? We're morons...

To propose that European countries do not also engage in
similar amounts of nationalistic activity would be proposterous. Remember- as the US is currently in the leading position it is a somewhat "natural" occurance for our "culture" to be the most prevalent and pervasive. Another excellent and fitting example would be that of the
golden era of the "British Empire" back at the time "the sun never set" on it- British influence and Nationalism were also at their peak.

While I believe that the European socialist system was a good reconstruction plan for the years following WWII, it is horrible outmoded and unfit for today. As it stands now, it is a severe obstacle to the correct, natural flow of capital and investment. You rob Adam Smith's "invisible hand" out of the capitalist system by virtually removing the will for citizens to increase their stature by giving them free handouts on the burden of others paychecks, and then making it extremely hard for those that want to better themselves with an opressive taxation system.

As I have noted before, the fact that Bush has not caved in to european complaints about US policy show that he is less a fool than everyone takes him for- not conceding to illogical and irrational european demands. (Mainly concerning a certain treaty with a Japanese city title...)

I love knowing i occupy the intellectual high ground

That, my friend, is a very contempuous remark.

-- I was going to say almost the same thing in response to the reactions to my post, but you did it for me. Thank you, this is absolutly perfect!!!!!

P. S. You have to wonder what they are smoking over there to belive that their system is going to get anywhere whithout leaving room for people to "feed themselves" so to speak. The old saying "give a man a fish he'll eat for a day, teach a man to fish he'll eat for a lifetime" comes to mind.

You don't know what you are talking about. Sure it is true that in Europe the wellfare system is becoming to expensive to maintain it this way...but COME ON! You make it sound like all Europeans are a bunch of communists!
The sytem is designed to provide essential things like food, housing etc to the poor...but it DOES NOT mean everybody gets everything for free. :sigh: Americans seem to think their way is the ONLT right way
