Is Milkdrop Alive?
I dunno, I'm a bit lacking energy to kick this thread off properly, but I just wanted to pose the question: Is Milkdrop Alive?.

it depends on what you mean by 'alive'.
it works, you can make new presets and you can use other people's presets. if you're looking for lots of active updates to the plug-in itself and masses of presets beinga actively made, then probably not (for a good few years now as those who were into it have moved onto other interests or achieved all that they could with the plug-in as-was). the code for the plug-in has been open sourced for a while (both MD 1.x and 2.x) so it's not like it cannot be altered, there's just a lack of interest from the few who can do visual programming to do anything with it. |

Oh hehe, by alive I meant alive in the sense plants and animals, including humans, are living creatures (although some people even consider humans to be machines).

based on that definition, no it's not alive.
the plug-in works, it makes pretty images and the code is out there to update it as needed, so it's about as alive an any project can be when there's no developer interest. |
