is it the same host or did you migrate your data and services to a different system in a different datacenter, only retaining the ip space?
is this a dedicated server or a shared host? you may want to ask your hosting provider if theres any network or firewall rules that block outbound requests to twitter... also the httpd access and error logs, and the php error logs. you might also want to make sure if using a title text file, that it is writable by the webserver... |

It is the same host and physical server, it was simply moved from one datacentre to another hall next door.
The server is a dedicated server and not shared hosting. The only thing that's happened is the server was powered down, moved to the new location and powered up again. It was down for 13 hours. It's possible the move and the loss of Twitter connectivity are a coincidence. The text file is writable as it's updating as normal 'fr1.1mix.co.uk/twittercasttrance/shoutcast.php' |

Discovered the logs didn't stop, the server clock was wrong.
Can't see any errors: [IP hidden] - - [24/Sep/2018:22:53:01 +0200] "GET /twittercasttrance/shoutcast.php HTTP/1.1" 200 420 "-" "Wget/1.18 (linux-gnu)" [IP hidden] - - [24/Sep/2018:22:53:01 +0200] "GET /twittercasthouse/shoutcast.php HTTP/1.1" 200 393 "-" "Wget/1.18 (linux-gnu)" |

It now seems the problem was the wrong time on the system clock as now it's been corrected everything is working again.
Many thanks for your help with this.. |

how far off was the time/date? since this happened after the move, this hints that the battery on the system board is dead and needs replaced. this means potentially every time the system is powered off, the time will be reset along with any customized bios settings... i suggest submitting a ticket to your hosting provider to have them replace the battery as soon as possible...

Don't rely on Twitter for your station promotion
After having my station posting to Twitter for 10 years, my account has been suspended.
I went through the appeals procedure, only to be sent a generic e-mail saying my account had breached multiple violations of their terms of service, and don't contact us again comment. I appealed again asking what the violations were [I police my account carefully] and got the same generic reply. So Twitter suspends you without a proper reason, and won't talk about it. Thanks Twitter. Let that be a warning to those who think using Twitter to promote your station is a good idea. 10 years of using their service [I know it's free] and that's what you get.. A mixture of anger and disappointment ![]() ![]() |

Were you using the script to automatically post to Twitter after a fixed interval? What was the frequency?

Wow, that's I how I am using it. Manually, just once or twice a day to update the Now Playing status on Twitter.
Hope it doesn't suspends mine. |

The annoying thing is they won't give reasons why the account is suspended, only generic ones 'there have been multiple violations of our terms of service'.

That sucks really. Was it a permanent suspension?

Yes, it's permanent with 200k tweets and 2k followers over almost 10 years - it counts for nothing..
