Winamp 5.2 goes through songs quickly playing about 1 sec of each
Alright,
I have 1,827 songs on my playlist. Shuffle is enabled on the highest thing. Repeat all is enabled. WinXP SP2 Administrator access ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Alright, so at random intervals winamp will be playing along and then it'll just go through fifty songs, playing about one second of each then moving on. Once its done then its fine, but until then its inaccessible. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Another thing, I have it in shaded mode right now, but I have to.. When I try to return to 'normal mode' its about 2px in size, and thus has no resize arrow. How do I fix this? |

Odessa,
Is there nothing else I can do? Also, why does this happen? The problem I reach is that even if I reinstall WAmp If the problem resurfaces, I'll be screwed. |

Please provide system specs (read this!). What file type are the songs that are affected? (wma/mp3/etc)
Also be sure you're running the latest version of Winamp: 5.22. You could try these DirectSound output tweaks as well. There have been similar reports, but the cause isn't entirely clear yet... http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php?threadid=245618 As for the main window not being displayed completely... Are you using the modern skin? If so, try deleting studio.xnf. That will reset all modern skin settings and often fixes things. The file can be found in the Winamp folder (default C:\Program Files\Winamp) or, when you chose to keep separate settings for each user, here: C:\Documents and Settings\<yourusername>\Application Data\Winamp |

According to the nullsoft thing I'm running version 5.22 The included file contains all of my system specs. There are no bugs, and by the thread you posted it seems to be my exact problem. It happened several times while generating my report. |

Well, one other thing you could try is reducing the size of your playlist. Personally, I like to keep my playlist small (less than 20 songs). But if you really want that big of a playlist, you should upgrade to WA 5.22. It has some fixes for problems with big playlists. Just one warning: WA 5.22 cleared my iPod's entire memory and now I have to reformat it, so if you have an iPod, be careful.
