Lost in a Pool of Confusion

I have already downloaded winamp and shoutcast stuff and created a station, but I'm so confused! I don't know how to connect or anything. I've looked at guides and such, I've seen other forums from people who needed help but nothing's helping.
Anyone mind telling me how to do this? If you need more details, please ask.

If you want to connect to listen to the stream its yourip:yourport/listen.pls.

If you dont know your ip go to whatsmyip.com and dont forget you will need to forward the port to the pc the server is running on.

well, you must find the ip address of the computer that's running the shoutcast, so open your browser and type: http://YOUR PC IP:8000 if you haven't changed the port which i consider you haven't.

for others to listen to your stream, they must access the shoutcast server from outside your house, so must also make sure that the ports 8000 & 8001 are open in your firewall/router and etc.

only port 8000 required for listeners - open port 8001 if you want external source stream

Is it just me or are shoutcast users getting dumber?
