Ive tried everything and still nothing >: \

Ok i left it for a while untul i tried it again but now its not even connecting im just gettin nak all the time. Ive downloaded that ip blocker thing and set my modem to forward ports 8000, 8001 and 666 but still no dice. Ive set norton to accept sc to access the net erm... ive tried just about everything you guys n gals say to do with the nak and no connection to the yp.

I have had this thing up and running before but then i was told to download the ip blocker to fix my problem when it stopped working, but still didnt help me... i dont know what else to try now and its really jerking my chain so i would be really greatfull if you people could help poor pld phreak out and fix my problem. By the way im using a safecom SWAMR-54108 wireless modem.

Thanks, Phreak.

nah you didn't try everything

i went to Google.com and asked there what do you get if you type -safecom SWAMR-54108 wireless modem
well it gives you this as the second link

http://safecom*****code/sub/category....=7&subcatid=1#

than you scroll down a bit to find this
Users support ( middle of the page somewhere half way down.)

http://safecom*****code/product/adsl/...enable-nat.htm

and last but not least de-activated Norton , it's always blocking Shoutcast.

Each Thursday a new show on Celtica Radio with Darkwave music.

a clean re-install ??

un install through proper way ( software) , delete the folder shoutcast

and re-install , also a router reset sometimes works wonders

Just to be a pain, but it will (hopefully) be worth it.
Please type everything in order with as much detail as possible of what you've done, starting from what you've downloaded. Then it's easier to troubleshoot what's maybe causing the nak error.

failing that ,,,, using a stream host will remove all these problems and you get support that you have paid for

check out http://www.radiotoolbox.com/hosts or check out the links in my sig below,

Okie dokie! Where do i start, ok the first ever thing i downloaded was winamp and then i found out about shoutcast so i downloaded that. I later found out that you needed a dnas so thats when i downloaded that.

Firstly i just went through the walkthrough thingy that comes with shoutcast download to set it up... no dice, ok no problem i'll go to the forum where i got the advice to change my yport , thats when i changed it to port 80 (i had it at 666) and hurrah it worked (and also i forwarded ports 8000, 8001 and 80 on my router). The next day i decided to put my shoutcast on again but when i tried that day it didnt work for me, i think i was getting the nak error. I though, how strange so i came back to the forum and i was told that it wasnt working because my ip had changed since re-boot (this is where the problem started) i asked if there was a way to fix it and this one mod told me to download a programe called no-ip which i did. I tured this no-ip duct on and tried shoutcast again but it was saying the nak error. I later came back to the forum and asked for some assistance which someone told me to re-install the shoutcast dnas.

So heres a list of my happenings:

1. Downloaded winamp
2. Downloaded shoutcast plug-in
3. Downloaded shoutcast dnas server
4. Forwarded ports and changed ports
5. My net-radio worked for a day =D
6. Downloaded no-ip duct
7. Re-installed the dnas server
8. Re-tried the above

Oh and one last thing before you mention it my windows firewall is disabled and ive tried it with my norton disabled too!

Note: Im using a Safecom SWAMR-54108 wireless router.

Hope that helps!

Norton is very naughty and leaves parts of itself running even if you think it's switched off.
I'm assuming you gave your computer a static ip for the router to talk to, if not you should do that as soon as possible.
You don't necessarily need to change that yport=80 to yport=666 unless you DO get problems, it could cause the nak by having the wrong one in it.
Now if it worked before then it will work again. Why did you reinstall the DNAS? What did you change in the DNAS?
Taking the no-ip bit out for now and just trying with your ordinary IP is better, www.whatismyip.com (as you probably know )

What do you mean by giving it a static ip?

I reinstalled because screeplay said:

http://www.portforward.com/networking/staticip.htm
shows you how to make a static IP.
If you go to Start> settings >network and dial up connections, right click on your Local Area Connection and choose properties, click on Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click properties on the button there, you will see that you can either "obtain address automatically" OR "use following IP" you want to be doing the latter.

Who is your ISP? Some of them mess about with the boring ports that we usually use, maybe try a higher range? 10567 and 10568 for example.

Its AOL, so would it still connect if i changed to to a higher port and not 8000?

Maybe if i un-install everything and start from scratch could help?

AOL should work ok. I think it's remnants of Norton that are still running in the background.
Checklist for you before you start reinstalling anything.

1: Firewalls off
2: If possible uninstall Norton entirely, get AVG free edition from www.grisoft.com for an anti-virus. (Norton is EVIL!)
3: Make sure that your static IP is the one that the router is forwarding your ports to. Restart router if possible.
4: Test both 80 and 666 on the yport part of the DNAS, remember you must restart it each time.

Show me your DNAS config (don't forget to blank out your password!) also, the server log if it's still giving errors.

Ok you're doing better on 666 so leave that how it is.
The error connecting to yp.shoutcast.com is common and has been happening to lots of people for days so I wouldn't worry about it too much for now. At least the nak error has gone!
Do you have a listen link at all please? I tried the IP out of the above nak error but it timed out.

Is your computer the only one on your network? You can only forward (example) 8001 from ONE pc on that network, not any more computers or the router will hiccup.

Just make sure that the pc you're on isn't trying to share the same ports as the one upstairs. Ultimate confusion for the router. I found this out the hard way when I was doing similar things between two computers.
If you don't have too much set up on your router, it might be worth doing the hard factory-reset. It has a hole in the back which you can poke a pin into. Warning: It will lose ALL its information although it won't break the internet.

Once router is cleaned out of all your evil experiments you can once again forward your static IP on your pc to the router for port 8001 TCP setting.
You don't need to do any other ports unless you're wanting to have another DJ connect to you, then you can open port 8002 if you like.

For as long as it takes to switch it off and on again (or in this case poking the hole in the back with a pin while it's on), you'll just be taking all of the configurations out that you originally put in it.
It will be like the day you got the router.

Now you must go back to the router config and forward port 8001 to the static IP you gave your computer. (sorry about the delay..was elsewhere )

Well, to make Shoutcast work you need to fiddle with the router, but only once. Now you know how it works you should be plain sailing from now on.
I'm pleased that it works, I was becoming worried myself!

Log into router to see if your port is still listed. If not, you can't have saved the configuration when you added it before so will have to do it again.
If it is there then you're going to have to mess with your computer not the router.
