browsers and listen-links
For all you casters who use PLS, ASX, RAM or QTL links, to enable Station IDs, visualizations, etc., browsers as you know have become super-defensive. I diagnosed the situation comprehensively, and put this notice under "Which Tune-In buttons should I click?" in my FAQ page:
"If you've installed the respective listening applications, Firefox and Internet Explorer will start playing music immediately. With Edge, it's a two-step process; you'll have to click the link in the download box at the bottom of the screen. With Opera, a three-step process where you first have to click the folder icon in the upper-right-hand corner, then the downloaded icon. Chrome is the worst: first you navigate to your download folder, then click the downloaded icon." Chrome, the ubiquitous worldwide browser, comes in last place! |
