Douglas Adams, the author of the cult science-fiction comedy "The Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy", died suddenly in Santa Barbara, California following a heart attack on Friday, May 11, 2001, his spokeswoman Sophie Austin said. He was 49.

First Joey Ramone, then this. It sometimes seems like my heroes are dropping like flies...

"What kind of a two-bit operation are they running out of this treehouse, Cooper?"

And they said he was only fourty-something...

And I'm still stuck in the text adventure to the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy

Heart disease is the number one killer, unfortunately the things we produce/consume make us even more vulnerable for heart failure of one type or another. I think it ironic that the very heart of us, both spiritually and physically, is the first to fail us. Perhaps, if we were able to use our brains to their capacity, the same would be true. We'd simply wear them out.

His heart popped while he was working out. The family said it was "unexpected".

Well that just plain sucks. Damnit! He was one of my all-time favorite authors.
Wonder if he was in the middle of working on another book or something, and whether they'll release what he'd come up with so far.

It took me at least an hour to get out of the house at the beginning without the bulldozer coming through the window and killing me...

Never mind.
