Can I feed a Shoutcast server from something else besides Winamp?

I feed a shoutcast stream server with Winamp v5.581 I'm having issues with Winamp hanging frequently. It just freezes up, have to kill it in Task Manager. Is there another program besides Winamp I can use to feed my stream to my server?

I looked at VLC but I can't figure out how to set it up to act as a Shoutcast source.

NOTES:
PC is dual core Pentium D 1.7 GHZ 4 gb ram XP pro SP 3, etwork connection to server has 5 Mb/sec upstream and 25 Mb/sec downstream, ping time between me and the server is 9~15 ms, packet loss is below 1%. PC is dedicated, all it does is run Winamp- not used for anythig else. Used to work fine until about a month ago. Server logs just show the source disconnecting. Windows logs show "Application Hang" but no other info.

You need to look into the command line based application,sc_trans v2.
It is available from the main download page.

It's difficult at first to get it up and running, but with a little time spent
you get a "station in a box" so to speak.

So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish.

Cool!

Yeah this will certainly work. I like that running it as a service is a lot easier than trying to make Winamp a service. I hate having to run critical stuff in console mode.

With schedule features and an api for external control, this new version of sc_trans
is amazing for those with a little technical knowledge.

It will save a lot of people a lot of time

Another FREE Radio application that allows Broadcasting but you'll need Edcast is @ http://radiodj.ro

it does require knowledge of MySql however.

SAM Broadcaster is easy but not free about $300 but you can do the easy pay plan. SAM works nice in Windows XP I don't know what OS you have but I've heard it works fine with Windows 7. Lots of trouble with Vista however. Then what does work with vista?

Great Broadcasting Software Windows XP/7/8
