Delete Shoutcast status page

How do I not display my shoutcast status page to the public?

and only my Staff are only able to acess it

I was thinking maybe before you can view the page a password thing would come up

also I was maybe thinking this too http://64.236.34.4:80/stream/1071 and see what happens

please do tell

I have never understood why people want to keep that page private. What do you have to hide that is displayed on that page?

thats the key..

Is it possable to hide the server stats? YES! but not with DNAS! Some stats can leave you (and your listeners) vurnable to some attacks.. I had an attack where they kept causing the DNS lookups resolve into timeout.. was causing the sockets to "busy out" the connections.. and another one was giving out the IPs to the listeners.. so a "big boy" station was DDoSing them! NASTY!

.. oops.. I forgot to remove my tin-foil hat of TRUTH!

what were we talking about now?? Bahahaha... isn't my wool fluffy and soft? PET ME!

you can't! There is no logic behind it so there is no feature to support it.

JamJar, please forgive DJ Zath... We here at the SHOUTcast forums sometimes are either
a) High
b) Pretending to be High
c) Stupid

It's hard to tell sometimes

The URL format you speak of http://64.236.34.4:80/stream/1071 - that belongs to AOL "Ultravox" servers, although it works alongside shoutcast it isnt.

No you cant download it or even get access to one.

If you are using windows media, there is no publically accessable status page.
