Picture of the Day 7-18-05

This bridge is half under the water, for ships to pass and then again, it comes out on the other side. Truly a marvelous piece of engineering! This bridge is between Sweden and Denmark ... Picture taken from the side of Sweden.

I came for the hatred.
I stayed for the ballbag.

If you like that, you should see the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel:

Been over it quite a few times, it's about 20 miles long from shore to shore and has two tunnels to create two separate gaps in the roadway for ships to traverse.

There's a couple bridge/tunnels like that in the Norfolk, Va area. Pretty neat to be on one.

[edit]The picture of the bridge in the first picture looks exactky like the one in Norfolk, Va. Either, that is the Norfolk bridge, or the Denmark-Sweden bridge is exactly the same...

They look like cool toys.
I'd like to build a train set that had running water and a similar setup.
