Dreams...

When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you got older? Fireman? Doctor? Teacher? Other?

I wanted to be a fireman. I figured since I liked to play with fire.

There is no sig.

Scientist or Actor.

And since I am an Actor, and have more than a passive knowledge and interest in science, now I'm quite happy.

I wanted to be a paleontologist when I was little...

GOTTA LOVE ME SOME DINOSAURS

I think I may have also wanted to be an astronaut, since alongside my fascination with dinosaurs, I had a fascination with outer space...

I also had a thing for weather, but I can't remember if I also wanted to be a meteorologist as much as I wanted to be a paleontologist...

I wanted to be an architect. That has evolved nicely into wanting to design and build things in general. Programming actually fits surprisingly well into this, and so I am quite happy.

I wanted to be a professional wrestler. I'm taking classes on it now.

No seriously, I am. What's the point of living if you don't use the ~80 years you get to do what you truly want to do?

I wanted to be either a writer or a rock star.

I like to write, and I'm told I write well, but I have trouble finding inspiration at times. I also bought a guitar last year (though I suck ass at that) and I play a mean set of keys, but both of these dreams are sort of on the back burner indefinitely.

Spiral out, my friend. You will find your way back to yourself, we all will.
I'll be waiting, and shall see you on the other side...

Go for it

@ Vie: since you are an actor, does that mean that all these years of bad spelling has been an act?

in fifth grade, we had that question asked to us and our response printed along with our picture in the yearbook.

My answer was "Monster Truck Driver."

Well, I have an immense fear of death (Not the act itself, more of what follows it as I am an atheist), so I have decided to just follow my dreams to make the END slightly more palatable. "I did what I truly wanted to do, I could do no more with the time given to me".

People, if you're close, bite the bullet and work for it, I can settle right now into multiple jobs that will give me a comfortable middle class lifestyle; but why would I want comfortable if I've onluy got 80 years?

When I was younger, I actually wanted to be a designer/engineer for General Motors. Now that I see what the corporate bean counters force the designers and engineers to do, I'm a bit glad that I'm not one.

I have a pretty decent job now, though. I'm a manager in the public works department of the second largest municipality in the state, I have my own equipment/material yard (about 12 acres), a large amount of purchasing power and authority has been delegated to me, and I have my own heavy equipment. I keep about three dozen construction and repair crews supplied with materials. The job can get pretty stressful at times, and the pay isn't the best, but I'm doing much better now than I was a couple years ago, so I can't complain.

I guess I thought about being a meteorologist as well when I was younger, although yesterday, this is the closest I got to chasing anything even close to a tornado:

It was slowly turning for a while while getting closer to the ground, then just ended up dissipating.

When Shy Jr told me that she wanted to be a doctor, I told her to be dentist. She'd make more money, quicker.

Now she tells me that she wants to be an actress Then again, I think it's because she thinks she'll get to wear pretty dresses all the time.

Ah, the innocence of youth.

I'll assume you meant on an island or boat and not actually in the water, because the rollerskates would be a bit silly in the water. :3
