Winamp only loads 80% of my playlist.
Hello,
I have about 3,500 songs in my /MP3 folder categorized into subfolders. I use Winamp library to add media my MP3 folder which adds all 3,500 songs onto the library. I then imported all the songs from the media library into my playlist and saved my playlist. When I close winamp and load it, it only has around 2,800 songs on my playlist for some odd reason. I opened the playlist with notepad and all 3,500 songs are stored in the list. When I clear my whole playlist and load it up again, it only loads 2,800-ish songs. I tried this a multiple amount of times so I know its not a specific file name thats stopping my playlist loading process, its always a different number it stops loading songs on. I'm running the latest version of Winamp, I don't think my computer is the problem since its an AMD 3200+ with a gig of DDR400. Does anybody have any ideas as to whats wrong? |

I am on my laptop which has 1gb of RAM. Virt memory is set at 1536mb.
I also noticed that Winamp is cutting off the songs as they play. I have about 5gb worth of mp3z (1554 songs) and that is gradually increasing. |

I have the same problem. It seems worse if they are in subfolders. 1G ram and I will check in the Virt memory. Could it be a title or address length problem? Is there a limit to the length recognised?

Do any of the filenames have a ~ in them?

None of my mp3 file names have any characters other than alphanumeric & the - symbol. They are in the following format: Frank Sinatra - New York New York.mp3
There are no other files other than mp3s in the directory and no subdirectories. |

Can someone specify the exact steps to reproduce the problem (numbered 1 to x).
Are you saying that the problem is with loading then saving your entire media library to an .m3u playlist file, but when you reload said playlist file then not all the entries are listed in the playlist window (even though the playlist file still lists them all when you view it in Notepad)? If this is the case, then could someone please zip up and attach their playlist file here, and tell us at which number in the playlist it fails on. My guess is that there's some illegal/unicode characters in the filename(s)... |
