The "One Hit Wonder" Band/Song Name Game:

Possibly too slippery, but who doesn't enjoy a challenge?

I think it's another "start ewith the last letter of the previous item" game.

So you'd have to find one that starts with y (dunno if Yes counts, they only had one real hit single but many of their albums sold pretty well).

Telepopmusik - Breathe (their only hit to-date).

I'm sure Yes fans would beg to differ; 'Big Generator' itself had 'Rhythm of Love' and 'Love Will Find a Way'.

[Edit - Didn't they have some grossly overplayed song from the 70s called, "Roundabout"?]

Your post in another thread sparked my memory; Yello - Oh, Yeah!

Yello had more than one hit as well, at least in Europe.

The Secret Of My Success?

Yes ought to have been a OHW band, so this is the right thread...

Going with "Telepopmusik - Breathe"

Eighth Wonder - I'm Not Scared

Both have top-drawer soundtracks, and both would be nothing without them.

The scurge of 1989. I thought she was a cockney (having worked with Matt Johnson) but she's Swedish.

Shame, her voice is great, the songs though are straight from Sesame Street.

Half-swedish, she's the daughter of Jazz trumpeter Don Cherry.

I love that song.

(But I think you just killed the thread, or can anyone think of another one-hit-wonder starting with y?)

I like it as well, I was gutted when my older brother (who bought the household 7"'s with his paper-round money) came home with Bow Wow Wow instead.

Some people have no taste whatsoever.

^^ From a band who disbanded soon after (not really).

Spiller - Groovejet (If This Ain't Love)

Featuring Ellis-Bextor will almost certainly result in OHW status. It's a good track though, considering.
