thats funny i just used it again???? worked for me.

maybe it has something to do with the png image in index instead of gif or jpeg.

maybe you have images turned off on your browsers to allow faster page loads i think i read something about that possibly being a problem. (although i doubt any skinner would do that anyway)

i just opened a second instance of internet explorer to double check
link worked again. it did. well hell any suggestions????

this definetly puts a hold on that skin although i have started a main but i dont like it at all

well here is a screenshot of it as it appered when i took the link'
well kinda had to switch to gif for file posting size

ps dont forget to x2 although it still looks better in png on the site
soooo one more time
http://members.bellatlantic.net/~vze4bzgd/
pps did the old link work for anyone but me????????????

Well, having this:

<body background="file:///C|/web/staring at the sun.png">

doesn't make things easy.

1. You can't link a local (in your computer) file in a web page, as it actually links to the user's computer.
2. Try to avoid spaces in filenames

Many who live deserve death, some who die deserve life - can you give it to them?
Then be not so quick to deal out death in judgement.

thank you both!

ok i removed all the C:/yadda yadda yadda crap
and got rid of the non-alphanumeric stuffs (spaces)
and uploaded the png file (duh!)

ended up looking like this

<body background="staringatthesun.png">

links should work although it may be a bit heavy on dial-up

thanks again hope that fixed

hlucn8n

but this is wa2 skins forum and not html help

so here is an early and unsatisfactory look at the skin

scrapped the last skin altogether
as i piss with the site it just wasn't IT

it will probably take on a 50/50 effect of the current 2 pages
im just not sure if i should split down the middle or corner to corner or maybe, main=staringatthesun and eq=eclipsed or vice versa
or something else altogether should finish a new skin mock up tomorrow

im not sure as to what may change its still early as far as the site goes to

please take a moment to

just as it looks......

on the site with a few subtle changes

the v-birds now may show up on the site (links)
and maybe in the eqpl buttons to create a flock effect
i may shorten the full title for the skin to just

HLUCN8N

the eq will probably not end up with any animations in the bars so that it doesn't give me the standard ONEbar for all eleven of em
i realize the eq text ( eclipsed in the title bar,on/presets +/-20/0) doesn't have enough contrast yet it will recieve a little more and i stress little beause the whole idea is to be dark / silhouetted

anyway heres a screen shot in double sized because its the only way to make out the eq currently and it surprisingly dont look that bad x2

I thought the EQ was all black till I read about there being text, still can't see it though unless I'm an inch from my monitor.
same goes for the text on the website. but I guess you will be changing that

anyway interesying idea bitearly to really say much about it but I don't like the hard transistion between the light blue and the black, and personally I think splitting it vertically would probably look better, though this will probably be a lot easier to skin. also wondering what you're gonna do with the other windows, PL, MB, AVS

from the botttom up

as far as mb and pl they will probably take on the vertical 50/50
look with blue on left of one and black on left of other or just a blue then a black not to sure
as far as avs i aint thunk that far itll be something outta the other 2 stretchable windows though

i may still split eq and main vertically because of the transition im not really liking it either, but it will probably be more of a jigsaw or interlock look versus a straight line

yes it is dark

and on the skin the eq text will lighten
on the site everything on staring will be identical on eclipsed at this point in my mind so i will probably not change the text on eclipsed(as far a comments go) i mean readability is only a click away and since i have "removed" the light source on page 2 I can only see making it barely noticeable and unreadable. the link colors will most likely change if not become some form of button.

and as far as the title of my page 1 bg staring at the sun i realize
that it is diffiicult to see but that was done to help create the illusion

just realize that when the sun rises and sets all objects in real life fall into shadow but the edges around them still catch the light as very intense reds and yellows, maybe you should add that to the eq to add abit of contrast.
funny that your making a skin lioke this b/c i've had a remarkably simmular idea which has been on the back burnner for awhile now, i'm realy interested to see hor this one turns out, good luck!

yes have taken that into consideration hence the edge of the eclipse

but not as far as how to discern the eqbars and such thank you for the idea.

well this will probably be most slowest skin to date since my site is still in its infancy and i wish the skin to reflect the final version (although it may never be final)
