Customising the genres list

I have my own set of genres which I would like to use. I have used these to classify a lot of my existing library.

Some mp3 players offer you the genres that you have typed in when displaying the drop down list for genres. WinAmp does not appear to do this

Is there anyway of customising the list of genres that WinAmp offers in the drop down.

I have searched for postings on this subject and the ones I have seen dating from a year or more ago indicate that this is not possible.

Has anything changed since then.

Nothings changed.

If you already have your music tagged why are you trying to get to it in the drop down menu?

"It is, in the end, whatever the Hell I want it to be,
And when I'm through with it, it's gonna blow a hole,
This wide, straight through the worlds own idea of itself.
They're throwing bottles at your house.
Come on, lets go break their arms."

The Genres in the drop-down list are the pre-defined ones apart of the ID3 standard, these cannot be edited. You also have the ability to type whatever you want.

I would like to be able to see the personalised tags that I have used already so that when I am tagging a new set of files, I can a) remind myself of the tags that I have used previously and b) when I choose the relevant one, it is automatically spelt the same way.

The information managmement term for this 'controlled vocabulary' and is standard practice in most content management systems.

As previously stated, other players provide this facility. I am disappointed that WinAmp doesn't support this.

What are the chances of getting something like this added to WinAmp.
