Loading 2 DSP plugins

I used one before but it always crashed for some unknown reason. The two DSP plugins I want to run are DFX and the ShoutCast plugin. Anyone have experience with a stable plugin?

Thanks.

Quick search shows:

Multiple DSP Stacker

MuchFX2

While I havent tried it with Winamp 5, I use to use MultiFX with no problems.

That's one thing I never quite understood: Why couldn't we turn on more than 1 DSP plugin without a stacker???

Why was this never implemented in winamp?

Security reasons? Stability? Didn't remember? Why?

Here's the full list (contains 2 more)

MuchFX2 (DSP plug-in stacker), by Marc S. Ressl:

DSP Stacker, by Spacial*Audio Solutions:

Multiple DSP Stacker:

MultipleDSP plug-in, by Sander Schutten:

[edit] dang, this one appears to be dead [/edit]
[edit2] aah! Gotcha! (source) [/edit2]

Hmm, what's this all about then?
Nullsoft DSP Library v0.1
I wonder how old that one is, lol

@Dextro
It is implemented by installing one of these plugins.
I think you'll find it's the same with most other players,
eg. dsp manager in fb2k = foo_dsp_extra.dll (standard dsp array plugin)

Ah, thanks.

I would like to use MuchFX2, but its window seems to permanently stay on the screen unless I move it out of the way. It would be a good feature if it could hide itself automatically.

So now I'm using the DSP Stacker, which is better because the thing will just put itself in the system tray, and I can hide that icon. Does using this take up even more resources on the computer?

Well, yes, DSP plugins do use some resources, but it depends on how many you're using simultaneously, which ones specifically . . . and most importantly, overall processor power...

My own experiences with DSP plugins seems to be that many of them make the music sound worse then before. DFX usually did okay, but Dee3 completly distorted anything.

In the end, it all depends on your speaker set up. But for me, the only one I have found that is worth a damn, and I am consequently addicted to, is Enhancer .

Using MuchFX too and I don't like it to stay on screen.
(If it is in the pref window, it'd be best)

Tried DFX, Dee and Enchancer, all 3 look the same to me and almost the same funtions, all messed up my sound(worked with one kind of music but not the other or it doesn't sound good at all)

Now stacking TomSteady's Simply Surround and Auto Gain Controller.

Thanx

Why would you need 2???

Dee 2 is all you really need. Its the most popular DSP plugin and Its all I really needed.

Well, the beauty of it is you can use one dsp to enhance the sound, eg. dee2 or enhancer, etc; one to normalize the output so all volume levels are equal, eg. RockSteady, AudioStocker, SqrSoft Limiter, etc; one for mixing/crossfading/pitch/tempo (loads of these to choose from); and you can also use Shoutcast DSP too

It seems as of WA5.666 we cannot do any of this. The stackers no longer work. If we try to run a radio station with Shoutcast DSP we no longer have the option for any other DSP

There isa third stacker which works. It just so happens to also be called "Multiple DSP Stacker" and just so happens to be v1.6 (which confused me).

Dr O has posted the exe.
