Just watched Meet The Robinsons.

Wonderful movie, though it needed more Lizzy.

Amores Perros! Here
Directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu, who directed
21 Grams. Also has three intertwinning stories but is more linear in construction. hard to watch( Dog fighting, animal abuse) but sad, and beautiful. The "Old Man" with his dogs was my favorte story line. forgiveness is a powerful thing..as is love. On IFC this month.

Not bad. I didn't see the first one, but I don't think you need to to enjoy this one.

Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl

After seeing a snippet of it on tv, I finally rented the first of the series and now I'm "hooked". Now I have two more movies to add to the queue.

Besides Donnie Brasco, I never thought I'd like anything that Depp was in, so I never gave it any attention. I never can find time to catch up on movies. I surprised I saw Transformers. (and that was just last week).

The first is the only one that I remotely liked. The second just sucked in my opinion.

No, I haven't seen any other Depp film, (I guess I did see Edward Scissorhands as well).

I honestly don't 'get' what women see in Depp, Bloom, and scores of other guys that show up on supermarket tabloids. On the other hand, you can surely see what us guys see in Keira Knightley and Megan Fox, no?

IMO one of the greatest actors, ever.

Fear & Loathing, Edward Scissor Hands, Ed Wood, The Ninth Gate, From Hell, POTC trilogy, the list goes on.

He's a very dynamic actor.

My memory must be getting worse as other movies with Depp come to mind: A Nightmare on Elm Street, Platoon, and Sleepy Hollow, not to mention I probably saw him on "21 Jump Street" and who knows where else. He just isn't one of those actors that sticks in my mind.

Last movie seen: Beowulf.

Sin City
damn fine movie.

Sin City 2 is in the works. Script written, setting up shotting dates. Movie is set to come out sometime in 2008/2009. Rumors about Angelina Jolie taking the part of a prominent call girl can neither be confirmed or denied. Personally, I think she would do well in a part like that ... Thought it was rumored that Depp was in it as well.

Seen a few over the holidays....

Carry on Abroad - Classic brit comedy...
Shrek3, fun fun fun...
Beyond the sea, surprisingly enjoyable
War of the worlds, Cruise version, didn't enjoy it as much as I did at the cinema, maybe small screen spoilt it...
War of the worlds, 50's version, never get tired of watching this, classic!
King Arthur, utter utter shite..
28 weeks later, great splatter fun

And last night Bladerunner - The final cut, finally a stunning DVD release for this amazing film....

"And yet the world of "Blade Runner" has undeniably become one of the visual touchstones of modern movies. The movie's Los Angeles, with its permanent dark cloud of smog, its billboards hundreds of feet high, its street poverty living side by side with incredible wealth, may or may not come true -- but there aren't many 10-year-old movies that look more prophetic now than they did at the time."

The Great Debaters
-Not horrible, I made it through without too many complaints, but incredibly predictable and failed attempt at being some sort of epic film.

Enchanted
Not my kind of movie at all, but the kids I brought to see it liked it.

The Illusionist: Nice ending, I wasn't watching closely enough to predict it so I had a nice surprise.

Alpha Dog: I hate to say it, but Justin Timberlake's acting was not horrible.

Children of Men: I liked it, though I think I need to watch it again.

Theatres:
1. I am Legend - I enjoyed it, and I don't understand how anybody can hate it. Suspenseful, action-packed, and intelligent (although completely unrealistic, I admit). One of the best movies of the year.

2. National Treasure: Book of Secrets - I have to say that I'm surprised that it's done so well at the box office, but I think it was alright. It entertained me, and I never thought about anything else during the movie.

Home:
1. Bubble Boy - it was alright. Not the greatest movie ever, but I didn't hate it.

2. Shadow Magic - a movie made in Chinese (I watched it at school). It had a really good plot and a good setting (China, right before television was introduced), but it got boring sometimes, and the one-song soundtrack was a turnoff.

For TV shows, I've watched American Gladiators, Family Guy, BCS Championship Bowl games, NFL Playoffs, and Two-and-a-Half Men.

What I plan on seeing:
1. Terminator: the Sarah Connor Chronicles
2. 10,000 BC

Spider Man 3 - yeah, I'm a bit late. It was ok. Didn't love it but it wasn't at all a waste of time.

It was more of the same, but "same" was at least decent. It's the old mentality that three burgers are better to eat than two, the third being no better than the first two, but still good.

It was a good comic book to motion picture flick, but nothing more. If you're bored and haven't seen it yet, it's worth renting.

Err, last film was..Above Suspicion some crappy crime drama thriller thing that was on late night TV, you know how it is, once you start watching you can't stop.

Oddly enough, had Christopher Reeve in it playing a guy in a wheelchair, apparantly it was his last film role before he had his accident, talk about irony...

Planet of the apes (1968)

Awesome film. Probs. one of the best sci-fi films I've seen. I especially liked it in their spaceshipe when they had a ship clock and an earth clock, that was such a neat little detail! Little things like that make films classics.

Alien series

I'd be lying if I didn't say the main reasons to see these films is for Sigourny Weaver when she comes out of hypersleeps, phwar!

Oh, and the fact that the first film was really innovating in set design and directing etc. etc.
