FIFA World Cup 2006 thread

Which team do you think will win the World Cup this time?

I was in support of England for long time, but that was until Rooney got injured. Now, I'm in support of Germany.

I doono why but I allways liked Italy and I support them till they would go out and after that I would go with Germany and if they would be out too I think I would go with Netherlend.

I love soccer and I don't have a favorite beacause I think it's all about the show.

Germany will be lucky if they even get out of the group stages this time around. They are a poor team, and are lucky that they are hosting as I doubt they would otherwise even be there.

I think England will still surprise everyone, but will ultimately dissapoint. I think they Owen will be fit for the start of the tournament, and Rooney will make his appearance possibly in the last group game, but we still have enough depth in the squad to score goals, and although the front line of Crouch and Walcott probably won't instill much fear into the worlds defenders, I think that might work in their favour and they will both have decent tournaments.

used to love Germany ... but they simply seem to have lost something since Lothar Matthaeus left.

This year I am for the Americans all the way. Hell, we might even learn to finally play soccer like the europeans do!

I don't like people who support another team in the world cup. Especially when their own team is in it.

Brazil or France will win it - I hope England do, but Brazil is too much of a strong side.

Brazil are either too old or too fat. Ronaldo is both.

having said that though, Ronaldinho is a genius.

Basing my knowledge of football on Pro Evolution Soccer, if Brazil play Adriano, they will fucking win every game 3-0.

As long as England play Gerrard as a winger, they stand a good chance. But it seems that Frank Lampard has been preferred over him.

Mostly because Gerrard isnt a natural winger, he is a central midfielder. Our wingers are Beckham and Cole.

Brazil has the best chance in my eyes, but Germany really sucks this year. Don't bet on them.

I'm not sure about the Netherlands, the team is young and has few players with much experience, but results so far are ok.

It's time for Argentina to rise once again. They have a very good team this time around. They do not rely on just one player like brazil or England.

Which one player would that be that Brazil rely on?

Would it be Ronaldinho. Or maybe Robinho. Or how about Ronaldo. Then there's Edmilson, Gilberto Silva, Ze Roberto, Gilberto, Roberto Carlos, and Cafu, with a choice of Dida, and Julio Cesar in goal amongst several other players.

What these all have in common is that they play in the top teams of the Spanish, German, English, and Italian leagues (o;

Having said that, so are a lot of the Argentian players.......!

If France wins they will just surrender the cup to the Germans.

Heck, I just learned today that the USA has a damn team. Apparently there is even a "professional" league here too.
