Yeah, but maybe we need to start a new thread about the vertical aspects of the X?

LOL @ gonzo. I think WinampV would be a better fit than WinampX, although the 'V' lacks the aforementioned horizontal symmetry.

True but the vertical symmetry is there and it works very well. Also the V could be an analogy of the small beginnings of winamp to it's current form and it's potential in the future!

Yeah. I started a monster.

@ EAK125...

off-topic but by chance are you the same EAK from RedRival that also contributed to the advent of MyRival about 2 years or so ago, and weren't you also voted in at one point as the SOW, and didn't you also contribute scripting to MyRival - a popup window generator script?

Don't email or PM me concerning Winamp. Instead, either start a NEW TOPIC or post a REPLY in the appropriate thread in these forums. This will also benefit others who may have a similar question or problem. But before posting, please first Search the forums and read all FAQs and all Sticky threads.

I have a site at redrival but can't say i contributed anything - they are just my webserver. The only thing i've ever scripted is 2 color themes in for the Modern Skin (Rainforest, Amethesist) and the Sweedish Cheff Locale for Winamp 3. I am not a coder - i just dabble in html\xml - nowhere near the skills to do a popup anything.

<noobmode> SOW? What that? <\noobmode>

I'm just a lurker\$.02 cent'er in the forums here and a outta work amateur CG artist in the realworld...

OK. My bad. I just realized.. the EAK I was referring to was Eric King.

Doesn't really matter now, but if you had been the other EAK, you would have known that SOW was the RedRival Site Of The Week, and EAK contributed his Pop-up Window Generator. Actually, I created and then ran that site a few years back when I was known as Phzzz (Phzzz is long-dead now though and Nunzio lives ). But the site has since gone to shit. It's death started around the same time that Phzzz died. LOL!

Yea, this site has a ton!

Many are bitching, many are lame. I just downloaded them all and if I see one I dont like (or really like) playing, remember you can "rate" the preset using + and - .

Thanks for the link. I also know what you mean about some poorly made presets degrading the VIS experience, but instead of using the rating system, i just delete the presets I dont like. Same goes for AVS....painstaking process, but well worth it once you have your 100 or so favorites running exclusively.

You know, I tried playing with the plug-in for that as Egg instructed a couple pages back, and Winamp just started acting totally freaky. The tone and volume would screw up if I deselected Winamp and I had to reinstall it to get it to stop, even after resetting things back to default.

Weird, but I suppose stuff like that is why I don't mess with the plug-ins much.

found a typo in the final (supposed?) release (http://download.nullsoft.com/winamp/...amp50_full.exe)

in the version history dialog it says:

"Support for classic Winamp 1.x/2.x/2.9x skins and Winamp 3 ("Modern") skins"

Surely that should be Winamp3?

damn it why cant they put the long version update list in! looks so much better! i believe dj egg has a copy...

I just got lost in thought. It was unfamiliar territory.

Ummm - to make sure u have the latest ver - Ur build should be the 14th not the 12th! The 14th build is the one that will be linked to when the main winamp site is updated! (from Sawg: http://forums.winamp.com/showthread....80#post1201180)

(I have Opera reloading winamp.com every 1 min so i can get WA5.0 ASAP!)

ahhh so I don't have the proper final then
ah well keeps up the excitement

@sawg: (if you posted that in reply to me) I meant the changelog from winamp 2.91 to 5.0 final (because thats all the changes that the public will see, and it looks *very* impressive). But that change log was interesting too

something like the attached.... (although that doens't have the 2.92/5 changes in)

@Evil_Ernie was that your wish too? I kinda remember someone else asking for something similar...
