Are they really going to launch it all at midnight? Is this what they've done in the past? Can they launch it at midnight just so that everything AOL-wise checks out that it happened on the date, just to please the fans who will probably stay up late just to get it?

amano: what I mean is that they already put the release back once, they could do it again..
But if they are releasing it the 4th, then I think it will still be atleast 20 hours away from now..

It's still 13:30 december 3 in PST (Pacific Standart Time) and 16:30 EST (Eastern Standart Time) so even being 21:30 here at GMT (Greenwich *******n Time) I think we still have to wait quite some time to see anything!

when 4th of dec. starts at 0:00 PST in San Francisco, the day already ends at 3:00 PST in Wellington.

so 0:00 GMT (england, greenwich meantine) is a good bet I guess. and maybe betanews is faster?

second best guess: when do the nullsoft guys leave their office? 17:00 PST?

the biggest problem i have is the slow searching of winamp with the modern skin... is it possible to speed that up?

with the classic skin i can browse true a number very slowly, but with the modern skin it's going very ugly (searching with the arrow keys)

hehe, now foobar 2000 7.5.1 b1 is on top of betanews. it was top there 2 weeks ago when I was monitoring betanews for winamp's last but delayed release date.

here they told me that it was delayed and I stopped monitoring betanews. sadly enough because rc8 was out there a few minutes later

Those worked for Winamp 2.91 but fail to work for 5... I changed the class name in the application I am using to control Winamp 5 (changed it to BaseWindow_RootWnd) but absolutely no reaction from it.

Winamp5 acts exactly like Winamp 2 in terms of IPC. You need to use the "Winamp 1.x" window class - not the Winamp3-style "BaseWindow_RootWnd" or "Winamp3_IPC".

That's what I was talking about when I said it'll probably be another 24 hours or so before release (alot less than 24h now obviously).

But there is no such class! The window class has been changed. BaseWindow_RootWnd is the class of the Winamp 5 window, some little progie showed it to me, I am certain. That is the class to use.

I can guarantee you that such a class does exist. Try it and you'll see. Now if you have any more questions, create a new thread in the Winamp 2 development forum.

I'm afraid the chances of Winamp 5 being released today have got rather slimmer. Sorry to be the bringer of bad news.

I am not surprised. They should take all the time they need and stop even naming release dates.
