Is there support for XP/Vista there is also for Windows 7. I've tested Winamp on Win7 and it work similary to prevoius versions of Windows. With this difference that it doesn't support hardware mixing.

Sorry for my bad English

go to mouse options in XP
enable SNAP TO in pointer options.

Now min and max wa from the taskbar.
The mouse moves to the middle of wa instead of staying on the taskbar.

I know I have too much time on my hands but thought I would mention this tiny bug.
I am sure it wasn't there in previous versions.

Revision 2 is EVEN faster.
This is what I think a lot of people have been waiting for ..speed, less cpu usage and better performance.
Yeeha!

small issue
even if you choose not to install the winamp agent, the registry key still has winamp agent there
Under
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
You will have the entry for
"WinampAgent"="\"C:\\Program Files\\Winamp\\winampa.exe\""

I am assuming that shouldnt be there

I'm still curious regarding the "The" behavior I noticed the ML exhibits in the Album pane and also, I wanted to mention the minor asthetic bug I reported in Beta 1 is still present in Beta 2.

@Juanus: I don't see that registry entry on my end and I always install without the Agent. Maybe it's just left over from before on your machine.

@Hanschke
vista_thumbnail=1 still doesn't work when Winamp is minimized, heh.

@Juanus
I've seen one or two similar reports before, but alas, we've never been able to reproduce it.
As osmosis said, maybe it's a leftover from a previous installation?
Only uninstalling Winamp will auto remove that registry key (or disabling Agent in Winamp -> Prefs -> File Types).
But installing on top of a previous installation where Agent was enabled, but then de-selecting Agent in the Installer Options won't remove the old entry.
If that wasn't the case, then sorry, but I aren't rightly sure...

@djpete1959
Yup, I can repro that behaviour with Classic skins only, or when switching skins (including Modern ones).
The cursor moves to the middle of the ML window.
You're right in saying that it didn't happen in 5.541 or earlier. However, according to Microsoft, it is actually expected behaviour (see attached screenshot).
But yeah, we'll get it looked into and hopefully fixed (so mouse pointer doesn't move at all like before).

This has always thrown up the odd anomally, It's been mentioned internally in connection with album name editing and orphaned files.

Haven't looked very closely, but Album name seems to strip off prefixes in it's searches that it doesn't on File names,
'The', <space> and hyphen are ones I've noticed so far.

I always do a clean install. I uninstalled, checked and the key wasnt there. Then I did the install without agent selected and the key appeared. Its not pointing to anything if you dont install agent. So if you run CCleaner (or maybe another reg cleaner of some sort) It will remove the key. Its minor so I am not going to stress about it.

Also, this issue is still present.
When you enable the playlist tab (very cool), and click over to the playlist tab, the playlist goes away. But when you click back to the media library tab, the playlist does not come back automatically. You have to pull the divider back. I would think that you would want the playlist to come back automatically because many people would not know to pull the divider back.

Yes. We can reproduce this.
However, it's not as simple a fix as we first thought.
If we can't fix it in time for 5.55 Final, it'll be fixed for the next release instead...
Thanks.

means it better supports pixel shader quirks on different cards, and a few other things - is mainly for those doing milkdrop2 presets. there is a thread in the milkdrop forums about the 2.1 beta and the changes made for more info.

I have found very old bug!

How to reproduce the bug:

You need to remove all playlists from ML. After that open Winamp Modern' Playlist Editor. Choose File > Open playlist from Media Library. Instead of getting ”No playlists in Media Library“ (winamp.exe, 1156) you'll get all the titles of views from ML.

Sometime one have no time to read the tooltip because in Russian some tips are longer. It may be better to make the tooltips shown as long as the corresponding control are under the mouse cursor.

Has this also fixed the cross linking of tracks and missing file/song links?

I think this is possibly caused by clashes in new filename generation. I have had to use the third party iPod functionality to fix the problems, as wiping my iPod and starting again didn't fix the problems.

Maybe getting a bit ahead here Egg, current is still to save in ml_online.ini.

Related - no default config/settings are written on install now, so some right click functions won't work out of the box.
For TV, this is taken care of on first run (set passwords etc.)
Should there now be something similar for radio?

One more issue that has been around a while
If you use the Simple Album Preset Smart View
When you choose to play an album or enque an album from that preset view
It loads the album into the playlist in artist name order
This should load the tracks in album artist order (or filename order)
This can be reproduced if you have an album with songs that have different artists.

for example,
01. Mariah Carey - It's Like That (3:23)
02. Mariah Carey - We Belong Together (3:21)
03. Mariah Carey - Shake It Off (3:52)
04. Mariah Carey - Mine Again (4:01)
05. Mariah Carey Feat. Snoop Dogg - Say Somethin' (3:44)
06. Mariah Carey - Stay The Night (3:57)
07. Mariah Carey Feat. Jermaine Dupri - Get Your Number (3:15)
08. Mariah Carey Feat. Twista - One & Only (3:14)
09. Mariah Carey - Circles (3:30)
10. Mariah Carey - Your Girl (2:46)
11. Mariah Carey - I Wish You Knew (3:34)
12. Mariah Carey Feat. Nelly - To The Floor (3:27)
13. Mariah Carey - Joy Ride (4:03)
14. Mariah Carey - Fly Like A Bird (3:53)
15. Mariah Carey - Don't Forget About Us (3:53)
16. Mariah Carey Feat. Jermaine Dupri - Makin' It Last All Night (What It Do) (3:52)
17. Mariah Carey Feat. Twista - So Lonely (One & Only Part II) (3:53)
18. Mariah Carey Feat. Jadakiss & Styles P - We Belong Together (Remix) (4:25)

when you double click on the album cover, it will appear as
01. Mariah Carey - It's Like That (3:23)
02. Mariah Carey - We Belong Together (3:21)
03. Mariah Carey - Shake It Off (3:52)
04. Mariah Carey - Mine Again (4:01)
05. Mariah Carey - Stay The Night (3:57)
06. Mariah Carey - Circles (3:30)
07. Mariah Carey - Your Girl (2:46)
08. Mariah Carey - I Wish You Knew (3:34)
09. Mariah Carey - Joy Ride (4:03)
10. Mariah Carey - Fly Like A Bird (3:53)
11. Mariah Carey - Don't Forget About Us (3:53)
12. Mariah Carey Feat. Jadakiss & Styles P - We Belong Together (Remix) (4:25)
13. Mariah Carey Feat. Jermaine Dupri - Get Your Number (3:15)
14. Mariah Carey Feat. Jermaine Dupri - Makin' It Last All Night (What It Do) (3:52)
15. Mariah Carey Feat. Nelly - To The Floor (3:27)
16. Mariah Carey Feat. Snoop Dogg - Say Somethin' (3:44)

But I'm sure, that egg or someone else will contact you, if they want a Portuguese translation.

Oh and synthetiq any chance to see an updated Portuguese Essentials Pack installer translation from you?

anyone else having this prob?
Run wa with all windows open player, m lib, playlist etc.
Close wa when minimised by right clicking the tray min section. (Not the close button in wa and wa must be min in the toolbar or whatever you call it down there)
reopen wa and it forgets the ml was open...need to recheck it open again.
Im using classic skins

Yup, we know about that Modern skin 'File menu -> Open Playlist from ML' issue, when there's no stored playlists....

@Juanus/Hanschke
We've found & fixed the erroneous Agent reg key issue :-)

@Juanus
That is actually expected behaviour, because the Simple Album view sorts by Artist by default.
You'd need to drag the separator up from the bottom to reveal the Tracks pane,
right-click the Column headers, click Customize Columns,
add "Album Artist" and move it to the top,
click OK
then click the 'Album Artist' column to sort by Album Artist.
If anything, I guess we could/should make it sort by 'Album Artist' by default instead?

@ujay
Yeah, maybe I worded it slightly wrong.
I meant the config for which services you're actually subscribed to and what icon etc shows is now stored in individual .ini files in the ml\omServices subdir. The settings for SC Radio/TV config screens are still stored in ml_online.ini

@synthetiq
Are there major differences between pt-br and pt-pt?
If you want to make a pt-pt lang pack then as well as joining the xlat mailing list (as in Koopa's reply),
you can also find more info/instructions here:
http://xlat.meggamusic.co.uk

@djpete1959
Yes. I can reproduce the 'ML no longer open when Winamp was closed whilst minimized to taskbar with classic skins' problem.
Has this just started recently, or was it also happening in 5.541?
If recently, was it happening in the first public beta or just since the 2nd one?
[Edit: Ok, we've determined that it wasn't happening in 5.541...]
[Edit2: Fixed :-)]

@plexdude
It's in the hands of the webteam...
It definitely needs sorting out because the IE right-click menu is only supposed to be enabled for beta builds, but at the moment it's also enabled in the pubic release versions (I've tested 5.541 and 5.35 and it's enabled in both of those).

GUI glitch:
In the Title Information dialog, some controls on the ID3v1 and ID3v2 tab are slightly moved.

In detail:
* The checkbox label on ID3v1 should be moved down
* It also effects the "Genre" label and combobox

Quite annoying when switching between both tabs.

Query builder bug: "folder" is listed under the query language documentation but it isn't available in the query builder... actually Folder just plain doesn't seem to work. Am I using it wrong?

Simple Album View: type = "0" && album ISNOTEMPTY && folder HAS year

that should select for audio files with an album field and have a containing folder with the file year in it, right? (only my folders with years in the names have album art in them so I figured this would have been a good way to get around the lack of "HAS albumart" in the builder but alas..)

Oh geez!!! I didnt even see that you could pull the track pane up! That solves the whole problem!!! I was clicking on the top columns and of course you cant add the column headers there, well, never mind. But yes, it should sort by album artist if its not too much trouble, And with that said, it would be cool if they could be in year order also. Tnanks for everything. over and out.

[edit] Last thing on the list is ipod album art functionality. Any news or updates?

Drag and Drop from the playlist has never been a native option.

There is a plugin:
http://nunzioweb.com/joonas/dnd/

But if that isn't working, you need to contact the plugin author.

@DJ Egg: Ah darn. I wish it was.. or wish there was an ALBUMART= field along the lines of LOSSLESS= (1,0)..

In other news: I get a periodic Winamp crash when I've changed the address in the Bento Browser and pressed Enter (though I think it also occurs when pressing the Go button).

The site I've set as my default homepage (in the links.xml file) is http://www.lyricsplugin.com/winamp03...artist=&title= so you see I changed the info in the address bar more than a few times to get different lyrics and that's when it started crashing. Shouldn't be an issue with the actual setting of it though since I used the proper amp; and everything..

Edit: Yup, just made it crash pressing enter at http://client.winamp.com/browser/welcome/ too, editing to go from welcome/ to just browser/ and back.
