Rating Display

I'm using for probably a decade now, but just recently with the latest changes concerning the possibilty to store the ratings in the actual file / ID3 tag, I got excited about using the rating system ;-)
Therefore please correct me, if I overlooked such an option:

I'm missing a display of the rating of the currently playing song (and probably of all songs in the playlist as well).

I have to say, that I do not use the media library, so a rating display there is not exactly what I'm looking for ;-)

you could alter the ATF string for the playlist editor so it'll show the rating in there though there are some issues with that...

1) changing the rating generally won't cause an update of the playlist item at the time
2) because the playlist just shows the atf string, you may have to use a mono space font to get things aligned nicely
3) there's a few different ways of displaying the rating using atf (not sure this will display correctly as depends on the font support on your end:
$ifgreater(%rating%,0,'Rating: '$repeat($char(9733),%rating%),No rating) shows ★★ or 'No Rating'
$ifgreater(%rating%,0,'Rating: '$repeat($char(9733),%rating%)$repeat($char(9734),$sub(5,%rating%)),No rating) shows ★★☆☆☆ or 'No Rating'
'Rating: '$repeat($char(9733),%rating%)$repeat($char(9734),$sub(5,%rating%)) shows ★★☆☆☆ or ☆☆☆☆☆

is unicode character 2605 (filled star) and 2606 (unfilled star) when using Window Character Map or is alt code 9733 and 9734 alternatively.

hope that sort of helps things, is just that ratings in the playlist editor has never been a fully worked out solution due to how the playlist editor works (main issue being the lack of refresh on the item though might be possible to do a plug-in to do it with 5.5+ installs).

in the bento skin, the rating is in the file info window. (directly to the right of the player controls)

and don't forget to edit the ini to write the ratings to the file, (still necessary unfortunately)

ah thanks for the hint

i've been using the cPro Bento and there the ratings are missing. I like the vertical layout (winamp classic layout). I should probably contact the cPro guys and kindly ask to include the ratings ;-)
