No Sound Driver Detected, Winamp Error?

I thought this was an issue with my on board sound card. I put in a USB sound card and it worked right away. I restarted the computer today, since I didn't the day before after installing the USB Device. I am getting the same error again. I look in Device manager and it shows with the most recent BIOS version. The computer is running Windows XP. When I go to control panel --> sound it doesn't show any device there. Any advice?

this doesn't sound like a winamp issue at all.

did u try unplugging and replugging in the USB sound card?

shouldn't be necessary, but might work.
