Setting Winamp system tray icon to 'Always Show'

I set my system tray to hide inactive icons. I also set Winamp's system tray icon to 'Always Show'.

The problem is: Windows still hides the icon as if it is set to 'Hide When Inactive'. Does anyone know any settings fix/workaround?

I don't want to disable hiding inactive icons - this is to save screen space while making programs easily accessible.

My OS is Windows XP.

I don't think this is possible unless you get the icon to update every 10 seconds.

it'd probably be annoying.

Right-click the arrow, and choose Change Notifications. Find Winamp in the list, and select Always show. That'll let it stay put and still cause other icons to be hidden.

The problem here is that Winamp's program name and hence the label that Windows uses to determine always-show/hide, etc status always changes due to Winamp reporting the song title!

Is there no way to disable this function?!

All the best,
Dax.

Dax, Windows doesn't look at that label when finding that entry. I've put Winamp on Always show, and it stays that way, on both XP and Vista, regardless of what I'm playing.

I know it occasionally has issues remembering these things, with seemingly random programs suddenly being "Hide when inactive" - I'm not sure why that is, but it's NOT because the icon title changes.
