Stream URL

Hi guys,

Haven't posted here in ages!!

I had to change my shoutcast hosting provider (For the 3rd-4th time) and each time we do this we have to go through the trouble of updating the ip addresses on the website and with all the other sites out there.

I was thinking if there was a way to change the Stream address to a proper domain for example from http://200.xx.x.xx/listen.pls to something like http://mydomainname/radio.pls so that way whenever you change providers you just update the new IP address on the hosting side of things and your set (similar to what you do when changing hosting providers for your domain name).

Any suggestions would be appreciated

Sure you can absolutely do that. Its actually best practice to use that method over just providing an IP.

do you currently put an IP address in the config?

if so, use the domain name instead (JUST the domain name)

if not, read the documentation to find the config setting you need to add

Is it just me or are shoutcast users getting dumber?
