Hi waw!
Thank you very much
It took a lot of time to write this,
i've uploaded an upgraded version to the above address
now the 4 channels/cone orientations are fully supported!
presets added, although currently it doesn't save settings..

Seems like I can't find that 'click' bug at song start
interested in source code? ;D

I've uploaded a new version, main settings are not saved.
interpolation is disabled by default. note that when interpolation is enabled, EQ works more fine!
simply i don't have time to fix those playback problems,
the whole mixing/buffering engine rewrite is needed i think

source available at
http:\\people.inf.elte.hu\mogyakos\eax20src.zip

don't pay attention to the code, it's a shit

@flowwolf
First my tanks for bringing up a great plugin. This plugin has put new life into my creative audigy pro. Better sound from speakers which were earlier ignored.

I find one problem, while streaming, if network is low, it keeps on looping on the buffered bit. I tried lowering the buffer a bit, but it keeps giving a looping audio.

Hi again!
Thank you very much, i've written a new 32-band equalizer it uses simd up to ssse3 i will code that to the plugin and i'm currently doing the new sse2 sinc interpolator, they are degrading the performance on the 'base' version; the base version doesn't use sse at all.
The main problem in this plugin is the buffering part. it has a very old (minimum four years) code, very slow, and very poor.
Only the buffering part rewriting is needed, i will do these all as soon as i have time, and i will upload the newer version here.
happy new year

How does one use this?

I have been looking for an EAX plug-in for years. I have downloaded this one but can't seem to figure out how to use it. After installing I selected the new out put plug-in, I can play music, but cant seem to do anything else, all this plug in seems to do is play music a little quieter then the default. What am I missing, is there a control window? Read me file doesn't help. I really like this sounds of this.

hi
there is an icon on the tray
you can bring up the control windows: EAX 2.0 panel, DS3D positioning, settings and the equalizer.
currently i'm working on the sinc decimator, i really don't know why but is not exact, SSE2 interpolation / equalizer is done. i will release the new version with the SSE2 resampler/equalizer as soon as i find that decimation bug.
buffering part operates very poorly, rewriting is needed.
it is possible that the new version won't have as many features (fading, gap control, etc..) as this.
regards

hi!
here is the new version
new SSE2/SSE3/SSSE3 equalizer
new SSE2 high quality and good speed SINC interpolator
some click-fixes were done
I will not submit until there are no responses about stability
this is an *unregistered* version but note that these settings are quite optimal

Hi, I have been using your plugin for a while (its great btw) on windows 7 with creative alchemy. But recently it has stopped playing music through my rear speakers. Not sure when it stopped but I cant get it back.

I used to have XP which allowed upmixing but when i upgraded to W7 I was really annoyed to find there was no support for this anymore. Your plugin was a godsend, If anyone has any ideas what could be wrong I would really appreciate some pointers.

I have winamp in the Alchemy list and the dsound.dll file in the winamp folder, is there anything else that needs setting?

Thanks in advance

Sico

Hi Sico,

I've got your bug-report
I'm going to buy a Creative X-Fi Extreme or XtremeGamer
soundcard and I will test it for you
Someone has already stated me a bug report on a X-Fi card

What is the version number of your alchemy?
What do you think on "upmixing" exactly?
Does the plugin work on xp64 without any problem?

Regards, flowwolf

Hey flowwolf,

I'm using a Creative Audigy 4, not sure if it would make any difference.
I have Alchemy 1.25.10
I did not need the plugin on XP as upmixing was a feature in the Creative programs themselves and I do not have XP installed anymore so can not test it (sorry).

I have found the cause of my problem... and nothing to do with your plugin.

The Creative audio console was set to 2.1 speakers which was overriding all other settings, meaning the plugin was outputting to the rear speakers but this was getting played through the front speakers.

Sorry if this has caused you any trouble,

Sico
