remote control win amp

I want to make a tcpip program that will go on a pda and the computer winamp is on so i can control my music anywheer in my house. I am having trouble with tcpip in VB.NET and also with the WM_COMMANDs working. any suggestions? has something like this been done? all help is appreciated!!!

Great set of links on infrared working with your PC and controlling applications. Some key libs in the area seem to be WinLIRC and Girder. Pretty cool stuff. I actually got an old tv tuner infrared reciever hooked up so it could control winamp, worked pretty well. Likely you'll find your answer somewhere on that page or pages linked to it.
