Netflix class action

I'm a Netflix subscriber and got my email about the class action suit over privacy concerns at Netflix. Like the $20 million dollar Facebook case, users get nothing. The lawyers get 2.25 million. The rest of 9 million goes to "non-profit" organizations involved in internet privacy.

It seems Netflix is keeping former users data and preferences for more than a year in violation of California law.

These cy pres awards have drawn controversy. I think it's kinda smelly too. Usually these are used when plaintiffs cannot be compensated. This class is small enough that members of the class action could be compensated. I'll take the $3.

2.25 million to 3 lawyers for a few weeks work? That seems a little steep too.
