New to SHOUTcast

And i was trying to set up my SHOUTCAST 2 stream.

Got into the config file, filled in the

DNAS (sc_serv[.exe]) Base Path/Folder

box, then i got to the

Transcoder (sc_trans[.exe]) Base Path/Folder

Box, and was lost. I searched EVERY folder in the SHOUTcast folder itself. nothing.

Please help!

Transcoder (sc_trans[.exe]) Base Path/Folder is usually the same as DNAS (sc_serv[.exe]) Base Path/Folder if you've extracted/installed both tools to the same folder.

If you haven't extracted/installed sc_trans you can ignore that box.

have heard that mentioned a few times now so maybe we'd be better off with a DNAS and Transcoder specific versions which can be hosted 'in-DNAS' or 'in-Transcoder' which would then be able to directly save the config file with the details and create any start-up files, etc as needed (the fun things i think off when i'm not falling asleep).

or might just add a simple option for just configuring just the DNAS if that's applicable. so many thoughts, so little time, heh.

I've got the mind at the moment to work on the config_builder again now that I've finished the linux installer script for the most part. In fact, I'm thinking of working on it like right now.

well, i've got a pending update for the config_builder anyway (hides a few more options / tweaks some layouts / updates against newer versions of the tools / etc), but any sort of proper integration changes would need DNAS / Transcoder updates for better integration to work (and is just a thought anyway) so just saying if you start doing major changes, etc.

until things are finalised for the next dnas / transcoder release it's probably safer to wait for whatever i'm still going to change (as is still a bit up in the air on what will make it in at the moment).
