Yes, that was an incredibly stupid thing to say, but like Badrad said... this is the Winamp 5.0 Downloads and Discussion, not the "My OS is better" thread.

But Linux IS better...

ok end the topic, but i was talking about that for the average user of Linux. Comparing the Linux vs. Windows versions of the same types of programs. Linux's own programs are very good, but for programs to compete with the ones that are on Windows (for example: XMMS vs. Winamp).

I think someone needs to tell Betanews.com that they're hosting the wrong Winamp 5 Final; they have the build from the 12th. The site that does have the correct build from the 14th is hosted on that creepy French http://www.puissance-pc.net site with the Santa.

I think the best next step is to innovate again. Nullsoft will lead where digital music and video software goes again with Winamp 5. There could be a lot of very neat things to be done with the Media Library for instance, maybe integrate a p2p mp3 downloading program right into the media library, then burn to CDs all within Winamp.

Now that Winamp 5 is solid, they have a strong base to try things that haven't been done before. They will have to get a new SDK to let the community take advantage of the new general purpose windowing stuff, and let Winamp 5 grow beyond where Winamp3 was heading.

I'll only believe when i see the website with the download link, but, for what I'm seeing here .... How can I say ? Yeah NullSoft, you REALY got it !
The only problem that I'm still having is with the directsound, but it's solved by simply getting the 2.2.1 version of it ...
I just can't use the fade ... nevermind ...

Don't really know how to use the SPS plugin even after reading the help.
Can it code an auto-gain preset?
Can it phases the left channel but keeps the base intact.

Really want to get rid of MuchFX.

I would really like a plugin stacker, one that does not show itself onscreen or hide at the systray but has all it's controls in the preferences(like DrO's plugins)

Thanx

You can be how rude rude u want to me (like you've been from the start). I dont care, I dont take shit from ppl.like u. First of all no sense of humour, just sense of revenge for "nothing". Then again. u ARE a windows freak, at least that's what it seems, I respect that. The wine thingy was a joke ffs. Who do u think I am? Your unborned child? hahah. Omg plz cut it now. Or you will scare me away, brr. I mean I pull a joke and you immidiatly takes it as an offence against you, where did u loose your sense of humour? Did your mother drop you or smth?. Or is it that. that u heard the truth? (Personally I think it's that bad sense of humour part that is the right reason).

Oh and since this is my first post that is post-Winamp 5 Final's release i should say: It's looking great! I just can't wait for the burning/ripping to be uncrippled (it's really bugging me).
Where is it written that all linux users hate everyone? Linux users hate people who want the answers given to them, they repsect people who do some research on there own. I am a linux user and dont hate windows users. and i like some of the features xmms has over winamp, like quick play list reading of tags. </rant>

but anyway winamp5 is great used 2.x for the longest time

Well, it's now Tuesday, December 16th in my time zone and the web site is still hasn't been updated for Winamp 5. Two more hours till midnight in California. Will they make it? The suspense is... well, not that suspenseful to tell the truth.

The forums have changed a bit. I see that the description of this forum is now..

What is Winamp 5? Why is Winamp 5? How is Winamp 5? All these burning questions and issues discussed within.

And the Winamp 3 forums are gone. So something's happened. But I suspect that the web guys probably went home at 5:00. I don't expect anything to happen now until tomorrow.

Time to sleep now... [yawn]

QNight, Drop it. go to that other thread and discuss that issue. This thread is for Winamp5 disscussion.
I have seen it posted by 4 or 5 moderators that the Winamp2.x/5.x core will NEVER be ported to linux. There is just way to much to change.

Winamp3 was supposed to be able to be ported to linux, but AOL rushed it out the door, and it flopped. Now two of Nullsoft's best men have been axed, and wasabi.player(winamp3) Is dead. </rant>

ahh just drop the linux discussion. sure lots use linux, but they can write things original to their own OS, and stop getting things ported from Windows, otherwise Linux would become Windows, just without Microsoft. About linux users being assholes, i was joking, but tons of them are assholes, just like there are tons of asshole Windows users.

i didn't mean to offend you by questioning your first language, but because you were raising the question not based on what you quoted from me, i thought you misunderstood hugely. No problem. No more Linux stuff, actually just make it stop for sure. Linux is better than anything. Done, you win.

So Winamp5...
