Shoutcast Radio Streaming Moniitoring

Hi guys, I have 8 stations running and are all using ShoutCast.
But I am constantly facing an issue whereby my streaming goes down and if i don't check it myself i loose quite a large number of listeners globally .

How/What monitoring solution could I try out to ensure that the moment my streaming services are down I am informed via SMS or email?

If you are using DNAS v2 and you have a linux-box with a webserver and php, then you can parse the stream-status from the XML-stats via PHP. Execute this php-script with a cronjob and if a sid/stream is down, then send a email with the same script.

On Windows Pira Silence Detector is free and works great. I have mine set so that email gets sent to a gmail account dedicated for this purpose. My phone then is set with special alarm for Gmail notifications.

If you want more than one instance you need a workaround: I found I could just make copies of the installation folders. YMMV.
