... search through a database of text files that I have. I have over 400 text files that have important personal information on them and i want to find some way to be able to search trough just those files using keywords. I dont really care if its a script, or if its a prog., but it needs to be able to work on my hardrive, i dont want cgi or anything.

thanks in advance.

I'm not so enlightened to the OS you're using but if I really needed to do that I'd just use Find in Windows.

Start > Find > Files and Folders

But I'll bet the program above is ultra fast!

thanks guys. yeah, i want to search within the files so i can find a text string if i needed to. Im looking for as close of a replacement to the search engines that sites use within their site for my computer (offline). These programs work too though, and i'll look into them, thanks.
