R.I.P. Pavarotti

Opera great Pavarotti dead at 71

He defined how opera should be sung.

He is the highest selling opera singer of all time.

Every vocalist fits somewhere between a crying baby and Pavarotti - you don't get any worse than a baby nor do you ever get better than Pavarotti.

The world's living musicians as a group lost a lot of class because of our loss of him.

For many people, Pavarotti is the only name in opera music they have ever heard of, not just because opera is a taste that few are able to acquire, but because Pavarotti is really in a league of his own and can't reasonably be compared with others.

He had a playful and humourous personality and even enjoyed singing along side many pop stars just to either have fun or to raise money for various charities.

He will be dearly missed.

Rest in Peace.

Don't forget to live before you die.
