I've tried Gnome but don't really care for it too much. Right now I'm running two window managers: KDE and FVWM95. The Kde is easy to use and is stable but FVWM95 is more customizable. Just for the hell of it I've got it looking just like my Windows98.

Gnome + Sawfish + Nautilus (which, I just found out, has ceased operations) Hmmm, oh well. Good stuff though.

I'm using KDE at the moment. The version on Gnome I tried at work, made by Sun too I think, 2.0 beta, was completly horiffic. CDE at work is great too.

I prefer KDE. It feels much quicker than Gnome, and looks a lot nicer IMO

I feel Gnome looks and feels nicer as an interface. But it seems much slower at the same time, so I use KDE.

i'm gonna have to say KDE... although admittedly i don't have much of a choice - the only linux boxes i have access to that can run either are in my uni, and they use KDE... but maybe that's a good point too?
