Hello let me introduce myself

I am Cheveyo and new to the forums group here and simply wanted to say hello and wish you all the best. I will do my best not to be a pain but I will not lie, I am a newb and I take no offense in being referred to as such, laughs. I will be leaning on some of you to help me figure out what I am doing and what i should do. I want to run a multi level Web site and net station. I hope to help my community as much as I hope to entertain it. I do not have very much money at all to be doing this but being a disabled vet that is mostly bed bound, I need to find a way to have a purpose the way I once did. It took me five years to stop being angry and feeling sorry for myself, now I am ready to get to work. Still on social security disability and a 14 yr old daughter to care for, funds are very limited, still I am determined to make it happen.
So there is a bit about me, I look forward to getting to know you all as we go along, smiles, best of wishes.

Hey There Brother Vet and Broadcaster

I going by AJ for the second half century. Navy Vet, been a Geek for a while. Dad was a Can Build, Can Fight, Can Do Mechanized Calvary with tanks and Harley's. We both did Computers and Amateur Radio with MARS as part of our lives and hobbies.

So, my station is "KOCK.rocks BiPolar Radio". Just re-setting up the new Firewall.
http://www.kock.rocks, and rebuilding my media-box. Eventually I'll get it juggled to a happy config.

BTW, does your name mean "Spirit Warrior?!?"

No man of wealth and taste then?

You'd better head straight for the shoutcast section, General Discussion has always been just a hangout for ne'er-do-wells and is mostly abandoned now.

Great to meet you AJ, my Dad is a Navy Vet as well. He was the mechanic and I wanted to be just like him, so I learned it as well. What happened later in life you ended up with a mechanically inclined geek, laughs. Yes my name does mean Spirit Warrior.
As for dropping in over in the other sections I will, but I will never consider myself too good to hang with any group of people.

Might as well close new registrations. 99.99% of people who join the forums never post anything beyond their introductory topic.

This is a sig of some nature.

which is more than acceptable for support issues as is the primary reason for having kept the forums running and is how its been for most of its time running.

the death of GD (as I think you're referencing) is a different matter and is just an inevitable result of people growing up and moving on or preferring other means of contact. as GD was a product of its time and those who were involved and if they move on, its no wonder the community aspects on here have basically died (which happened years ago imho).

@Cheveyo - Welcome to Winamp and Shoutcast forums. Ex-Military Combat Controller here. Old-Timer been with the site and it's members back before the web was mobile, before mp3's were everywhere and while blockbuster was still a company.

The digital space that once was Winamp has long been under a slow meandering wane. Once the buzz of this community was so strong it amassed millions of active users and has since been whittled down to hundreds.

We are the ones that are left, and we have each in our own way been devoted to this platform and it's core since we first learned of it; and we will all likely remain even so as it moves forward or not.

If you need anything the ones that have posted and have chimed in are among the most dedicated and technically proficient people I know.

Give us a shout and we will see if we can assist.

(For my part however, I have much less to offer in the way of technical prowess; more I'm a moth to flame of others brilliance; though on occasion I have built Websites, Skins and Designs from naught but, my mind...and every once in a while some liked what I did.)

Howdy.

I have little to offer, but I have some odd addiction to this place. It's a drug. Periods of absence happen, but "they always come back", at least for a peek.

Don't forget to live before you die.
