Does anybody know how to edit an MP3 file through some sort of MP3 editor program, like you would a WAV file in a WAV editor program?

I have a number of songs recorded from a CD that are about 30mins long because they are the last track on the CD and for some reason the artist/record company decided not to end the track after the song was finished, rather to let it continue for another 25 mins of silence.

It would be good to be able to edit these MP3s without having to convert them to WAV and use a WAV editor package, because as WAVs these files end up very large and it takes a long time to work with them in the WAV editor package

Thanks, 3J
