CD Burning App Crashing in Vista x64

This started happening randomly (as far as I could tell) with the 5.54 release, and has continued through to the latest release (5.552) which I just downloaded and installed.

To repeat the problem, I start up Winamp, with a blank CD in the drive, select some songs, send them to the recorder (in my case F: ), and then go to the recorder and click burn. The 'Burn Proof' and 'Test Mode' box comes up, and I click burn, and then I get a Windows error. This occurs whether or not I have burn proof enabled.

The Windows error says: 'Microsoft Windows' in the title
Winamp Icon; Winamp has stopped working
Windows can check online for a solution to the problem.
Has the options for checking online or just closing, and then has the problem details:

Clicking 'Close the program' has no effect on the running Winamp application.

I would appreciate any help with this! Being able to burn CD's properly, without the annoying track countdowns, and being able to burn directly from FLAC's are why I purchased Winamp!

*The only other thing that I checked was to make sure that the Windows Media Player application that runs in the background is closed before I start Winamp, and this doesn't change the error.

Does no one have problems recording CD's? Lots of views and no stabs. I was hoping for a possible solution, it seems pretty silly for this part to just crash.

cd burning crash

i also have this issue... do you suppose it has to do with the presence of another aspi dll or something? like having nero installed, for example, installs neros own aspi layer...
i dunno you guys are the programmers
but seriously this has been an issue for awhile on x64 vista... tho to me it does seem like it has worked at times, and then broken at some point after running the system awhile... implying to me that its some 3rd party app conflicting in some way... scsi pass through driver, something like that...
- also winamp will exit with a crash if its scanning the media library when you exit it
- wont stay on top unless you like uncheck the option and recheck it
- crashes on some wm files due to some fault in in_wm.dll, i think you should just let directshow handle it

if it wasnt the best player that exists i wouldn't even bother with it!

Winamp Pro 5.56
Vista Business 64-bit

Chose some tracks,
Right clicked to Send To CD Burner,
All burnt fine.

Everything is fully patched. I burnt MP3 files to the CD without any issue.

I'm also seeing something like this. I'm on Win7 Ultimate x64. I'm not on my box right now, I'll try and get a crash dump of winamp when it happens.

I tried to reproduce this when I launched winamp under Windbg. I have yet to see winamp crash when running under a debugger. I wonder if there is a codepath that you're taking when a debugger is attached? Regardless, I'll keep trying as I'm having major stability problems after installing Win7 (fresh install).

It may be that something is screwed up with IMAPI. When I start up winamp, I see that there is an exception throw in imapi!DllUnregisterServer:
